living beaverton: Spring is here and everyone is coming out to watch baseball - 04/13/11 01:33 AM


As the sun popped out today for really the first time this year here in Beaverton, it looks like everyone wanted to come out and enjoy a game of baseball. This little guy here perched himself about 20 feet from us and watched the game for a very long time. Can’t blame him it was a pretty good game and with the weather it made it that much better.

living beaverton: You wouldn’t think you would need a coat in Egypt - 04/10/11 10:47 AM

As you can see my daughters jacket is tied around her waist with sand and sun everywhere around her. But, this was actually part of an exhibit at O.M.S.I. (Oregon Museum of Science and Industry) a great place to take kids and adults to learn.

This time around at O.M.S.I., their featured exhibit was on ancient Egypt including real mummies, stories, history and though you weren’t allowed to take pictures of the actual exhibit what we learned was still well worth writing about.

Though the calendar says spring was her, the weather certainly wasn’t letting us know that it was spring, (It was 38 at game time) but still those two things don’t mean spring to me. What means spring to me is to hear that first crack of that bat hitting the ball into outfield as my kids started little league this week. 

It was nice as I got my camera back just hours before my son’s first game last night. Though I’m a Red Sox fan the only win I’ve gotten to see this year was my son, since he … (10 comments)

Have you ever just sat there looking through the lens of your camera waiting for something to happen? Ever thing why can’t something just happen for me and then Mother Nature decides to say “OK” and give you that perfect shot that if you weren’t looking at it in the view finder after you got the shot you wouldn’t have believed you got it. Well, yesterday Mother Nature was listening and gave me that shot.

Thanks Mother Nature, I owe you one.

living beaverton: The Zoo Lights are big and bright and on the move! - 12/15/09 03:34 PM

This years zoo lights were even bigger and better than last years and as an added bonus they had a game for kids. The told the kids there were 6 peacocks throughout the park and if they found all six and came to the zoo store they would get a prize. This kept the kids interested the who time.

It was a little disappointing that a lot of the animals were blocked off to the public especially the night time animals that are a lot more active at night. I would have … (15 comments)

Over the past few days I've been stuck in bed with the flu and somehow missed the news that the Beavers Baseball team were no longer coming to Beaverton. But at the same time I'm relieved. I had some very mixed emotions about the Beavers coming to Beaverton because I don't want to lose baseball in Oregon and right now that is looking like something that could actually happen.
