parks: Clackamas County Neighborhood Parks: North Willamette Neighborhood Park in West Linn, OR - 12/06/11 06:54 PM
Clackamas County Neighborhood Parks: North Willamette Neighborhood Park in West Linn, Oregon is a great neighborhood park. One thing I love about visiting these parks for review is that I get to spend time with my family. When I used to do these reviews I would tell you how my kids felt about parks like North Willamette Neighborhood Park, but this time I wanted to do something different. I really wanted you my audience to get a feel of the park from the kid’s point of view. So, I’ve handed over my camera to my youngest and let her tell you

parks: Gladstone Real Estate: Parks make a community! - 10/25/11 05:43 PM
Gladstone Real Estate: Parks make a community! What makes me say that? One thing I love about Oregon and Gladstone is no exception is that we have lots of parks though out the community. When you go to these parks with your family it truly is a bonding experience. You see when you walk, play or even have a picnic in these parks with your family you are together, you get a chance to talk and get to know what is going on in each other’s lives without the distraction of TV, games or computers. parks: Just having a light afternoon snack - 06/08/11 11:20 PM
This little guy sat up to take notice of us taking pictures of the area and thought he should pop up so we could get a picture of him. This little guy is a nutria, a large rodent who I would consider to be closely related to the beaver. (Like beaver take up residence on many of Oregon's water ways. Even the though the Beaver if is the official animal of Oregon, I personally have seen a lot more nutria in my life than I have beaver. (Probably because beaver were hunted for their fur in the early days of

parks: If you aren’t going to feed me, we are going to have a problem - 06/08/11 02:33 PM
If you aren’t going to feed me, we are going to have a problem! This is the attitude this duck gave me when I came to take some pictures of his little pond area. Now, this guy came right up to me, there was no fear and he gave me some serious attitude. As you can see, he titled the head and gave me the look. He didn’t have to say a thing to me, I knew what he was saying without having to say it. Bad news for him was, I didn’t bring anything and we decided to leave

parks: Are you looking for a place to stretch your legs in the Hart Neighborhood of Beaverton, Oregon? - 05/23/11 12:01 PM
Are you looking for a place to stretch your legs in the Hart Neighborhood of Beaverton, Oregon? One of the things I love about Beaverton, Oregon is that we have plenty of parks and open greenspaces for families, plants and animals to enjoy. The Hart neighborhood is no exception to this rule with its offering of Brookhaven Park, it offers many parks and walking trails that give you a chance to stretch your legs. Not something you would think you would get to do in a neighborhood, but here behind the houses, without being seen is a great park with some

parks: Are you looking for great walking trails in the Beaverton / Hillsboro area? - 02/01/11 01:10 AM
Are you looking for great walking trails in the Beaverton / Hillsboro area? Then look no further than Rock Creek Trail which is maintained by the Hillsboro Parks and Recreation Department. This park is amazing and everywhere we went we could hear the animals. We saw ducks, robins, blue jays, squirrels and we could hear geese and frogs. (Never saw them, but they were there) We even found a couple Geocaches in the park, so if you are in to that, then make sure you stop here. Now, we also discovered a couple offshoots of the main trail and we

parks: Making Friends in the Park - 09/05/10 09:55 AM
Sometimes all it takes is a little piece of grass to make a friend. Despite all the grass everywhere in the park, the one being hand feed to you must be the best. I loved this picture as it was just so innocent and pure. This was captured in a local park where this little girl found this bunny that belonged to one of the other kids in the park. The bunny certainly didn’t have a problem making new friends, especially when food was involved. parks: Beaverton, Oregon Park – George W. Otten Park - 02/25/10 09:02 PM
By Todd Clark (Broker/Sales Coach) 503-524-9494 This is a small little park, but it does have everything a little kid could need and even a couple things for the big kids such as a basketball court. What was nice about this park is it had benches for the parents that were under a gazebo that provides shade that for some reason kids don’t seem to need. (I can’t figure that one out, I guess it’s the same science that they can go in 40 degree ocean water and not be cold.) But, I certainly could see this park being used

parks: Hideaway Park lives up to its name with no signs, but well worth the search - 02/23/10 07:05 AM
By Todd Clark (Broker/Sales Coach) 503-524-9494 Today we found a park that we were glad we hunted out. Hideaway Park is a little park just off Olsen Road but it has no signs to tell you it’s there. Once we found it we were glad we did or at least the kids were glad we did. (LOL) This park was something different than most parks in the Beaverton, Tigard area. This park doesn’t have much, but because of the unusual stuff it did have made the kids not want to leave. The first toy they spotted was a spinney toy

parks: Beaverton Oregon Parks (Burntwood West Park) - 01/28/10 08:35 PM
By Todd Clark (Broker/Sales Coach) 503-524-9494 Beaverton, Oregon, has many parks and though a lot are small, Burntwood West Park being no exception, this park, for its size, surprisingly, has a lot to offer. Located near 170th and Bany, this park has basketball, wall ball, swings, and even playground equipment. Though it had a covered area, there were no park benches or picnic tables in that covered area, so when it is sunny, I can see my wife getting sunburned if she wants to sit down as the only seats would be in the direct sunlight. parks: Are you a veteran living in, or wanting to live in, Washington County? - 01/07/09 08:38 PM
If you answered yes to either of these questions, then do I have some great news for you! Washington County offers some great benefits to you as a thank you for your service to our great country and keeping us free. Additionally, there are some other state and national benefits that you may not know about either. This one is a big one if you are planning on buying a home, or already own a home, in Washington County. If you are a 40% disabled veteran, or a widower of a veteran, you maybe entitled to an exemption on your

parks: How could one of the most beautiful areas not make it on the Top 100 places to live? - 12/30/08 01:13 AM
I love Oregon, I have lived here all but two years of my life and I'm not sure college really counts since my laundry was still coming home on the weekends. But, how could Tigard or Beaverton not make the top 100 of best places to live? Both are absolutely beautiful. There are parks, bike paths, and shopping. We have everything thing here you could possibly want. Is it because we are too close to Portland? Have we gotten Portland's bad rap, because when someone asks where we are from we answer "Just outside Portland"? Portland has high taxes, homelessness,

parks: Parks, Campgrounds And Other Places To Stop (New Group Announcement) - 08/28/08 05:29 PM
Over the past couple months I've been doing more and more local posts. Because of it, I've been getting more and more business. But, one thing I have noticed is there is no group to place posts about local parks, campgrounds, or other places to take our families when we go on vacation to a new city. So, I've decided to start a new group exactly for that. So if you write great about post about something local to do and you are about to post it to Localisim, now you have a place to post it so other Activerain members

parks: Hiteon Park in Beaverton, Oregon - 01/15/08 11:04 AM
Hiteon Park in Beaverton, Oregon is a smaller park that seems a lot bigger because it connects to a school. Baseball fields, and even the school playground equipment, are available if the kids got bored with the equipment in the park. Personally, my kids got bored rather quickly at this park, but if you wanted a place to practice baseball or softball and a place for a younger sibling to play while practice is going, on then this is a great park. It also has bathroom available and is on a bus line. This park is located between Davies Road and 135th
