Vista Brook Park is part of Beaverton’s Tualatin Hills Parks and Recreation Department and this park was large with lots to do for pretty much everyone. Not only can you enjoy the park itself, but it connects with the Fanno Creek Trail for miles and miles of hiking fun and discovery.

photography: Looks like I’m being published again! My picture is being included in the 100 best photos of 2010!

It has only been a week since I took the picture, but on Friday early evening I got the email from the editor of the book and said they wanted to include me in the best of 2010 and also wanted to publish the photo in the November issue of their magazine. Of course I said “YES” after making sure I kept all the rights to the photo and the ability to sell it to others. One of my favorite times of year is fall, the carving of pumpkins, the bright colors, the changes in texture on the ground. Today I was feeling a bit creative and decided to go out with my trusty Nikon D90 and take some classic fall shots and change them up a little and try a little black and white mixed with a few highlights for effect.

As we plan for our weekend of camping, this is all I can think about. Taking the camera out at night and finding the perfect sunset as each picture is as unique a finger print. Each day brings something even more beautiful than the day before. Mother nature has always been the best artist I know and I’m just glad she allows photographs at her shows.

I couldn't believe it when I got the email, there it was, someone wanted to pay me to use my photo. This makes me a professional, well I guess not until I actually get the check. But, I have a lawyer writing a contract on exactly how the photo can be used and for how long. But, I have to say that when one of your first is used, it is really exciting. How did they find the photo? Activerain of course.

Ican see my Canadianfriends denying this as wespeak, but I’m telling you I saw it withmy own two eyes! I even got the picture below to prove it. Ididn’t think I wasgoing to make it out alive when I came across this Canadian CommandPost. You can see their leaderthere, by the sign.
