relocation: Another Beaverton, Oregon resident on the move! - 10/17/11 12:40 PM
I love helping buyers relocate to Beaverton, Oregon and I wonder sometimes what made them want to move across the country having never been here before. If you have ever been to Beaverton, Oregon, then you know why you would want to move here.
But, moving to a place you have never seen but in pictures would be hard for me. But, I also understand many people move her for work and a better life. My job as a Realtor is to help make that move as easy as possible.
I also hope by sharing my pictures of the area … (6 comments)

According to Money Magazine, the awesome place I call home, Beaverton, Oregon is one of the top 100 places to live in America and this is why I have been raising my family and been telling you about it for the past three years., Now also on that list is our neighbor to the west Hillsboro, Oregon. You may have seen me write about Hillsboro a few hundred times also as that’s where my kids play softball and baseball.
Now you can finally see that I’m not the only one that is saying how great it is to live here. … (9 comments)

relocation: The Aloha Neighborhood of Beaverton Oregon (Finding a neighborhood to call home) - 05/13/09 12:07 PM
If you are considering relocating to Beaverton, Oregon, finding out about a certain neighborhood before you actually live here certainly isn’t something that is easy to do. But, hopefully, my neighborhood posts will help you find a place to call home.
The Aloha Neighborhood of Beaverton, Oregon, is a well established part of Beaverton that has many homes built in the 1960s and 1970s, but many homes have been added to the community over the years. There are even a couple new developments in the area that were built in 2003-2004, but most of the area is a little bit older.

relocation: That bites! - 11/21/08 01:08 AM
We all miss the dog days of summer and long for the next one, but now you can find out how your dog got to be your dog. If you are in Portland, Oregon, then you can visit the World Forestry Center now through January 4th, 2009 and find out the story of dogs.
Also, while you are there, you can climb on Peggy the 1909 log train that you see in the picture below. Because they didn't have trucks that could handle the large loads of lumber until the mid 1940s, and horses didn't have enough strength either, they had … (3 comments)

relocation: Are you moving cross country? It maybe cheaper to sell everything and buy new when you get here! - 09/23/08 01:49 AM
With the price of fuel and the cost of moving companies going up more and more people are realizing that they can sell a lot of their stuff on line and at garage sales and buy used furniture and replacement items in their new home state and save thousands over packing it up and sending it on a moving truck.
I recently had a client move from North Carolina who got a quote to move all their stuff, furniture, kitchen appliances, pots and pans, to Oregon would have cost them nearly $12,000, but instead they sold it online and at a … (10 comments)

relocation: The Beautiful Oregon Coast in Pictures - 08/05/08 09:50 AM
The other day I wrote a post called "The day the beach came to us" and that just wasn't going to do for the family, so off to the beach we went. One of the things I love about the Beaverton and Portland area is that we are so close to the mountains and the coast. I must say the Oregon coast is one of the most amazing places on earth to visit, when it isn't raining.
During the year we get the annual migration of whales, an average summer temperature of only about 70 degrees, and one of the most … (8 comments)

relocation: The day the beach came to us - 08/03/08 12:19 AM
Normally it takes our family about an hour, to an hour and a half, to get to the beach, depending on which beach we are heading to. But today it only took about 15 minutes as it seems the beach got a lot closer to us than normal.
You see the City of Portland has a public square right in the middle of downtown called Pioneer Court House Square, and this year they bussed in a few tons of sand for a sand art contest. All you could use was the sand and water to build some master creations.

relocation: My first actual fishing trip (Guest Post) - 07/22/08 10:52 AM
My first actual fishing trip was with grandpa, dad and my grandma came too, but she read instead of fished. We started at 9:30 and ended about 12:55, but we didn't catch anything.
Grandpa was the only one to lose his bait, but I was the only one that got 3 nibbles. We saw a couple of osprey though. Here is a picture of them, taken by my grandpa.

On our way back we saw this old water wheel and on the way there and back we saw this eagles nest, we knew it's an eagle's nest because dad and … (14 comments)

relocation: SOLD – What does it mean to you? - 05/02/08 05:28 PM
Most of us have had the fun of putting up the SOLD sign on a listing...it can be a great feeling. (I know there are some new agents out there, you will get your first chance soon!) But, what does it really mean to you?

Have you ever thought about it? Is it the end of the relationship or the beginning of one? I've seen agents put the SOLD sign out and never talk to their clients again, and this is just sad to me. I, personally, get really close to my clients in the six to eight weeks … (8 comments)

relocation: Beaverton Oregon Real Estate: Moving With Children - 05/13/07 11:59 AM
In honor of mothers day I thought this would be a timely post, hope all you moms out there are having a wonderful mother's day.
Moving is a stressful time for you, but imagine how it is for a child who doesn't understand why he has to leave his school and friends behind.
Before moving get all of your children's friends addresses, address the envelopes and tell them you they can write to them anytime. Pack up the children's room last and unpack it first. Make sure a routine is set that can be used in both homes.

relocation: Portland Beavers Home Opener - What a game! - 04/14/07 02:26 AM
Just got back from the Portland Beaver's Home Opener and wow what a game. But, in the end the Beavers didn't disapoint. After 9 innings it was tied 9-9, but the beavers won in the bottom of the twelvth. I was so much fun. My kids are now at the age 2 of the 3 are in baseball themselves and didn't want to leave the game prior to it ending. Been going to the home openers for 8 years and never has one of my kids wanted to stay. OK the first few years they were asleep by the last inning, so … (0 comments)

relocation: WE BUY HOUSES or Do They? - 03/16/07 02:58 PM
Do you want to know the truth? They don't really buy house they buy problems. What is a problem? A problem is you are behind on your payments, death, divorce or you have a pending move and don't want two payments and other similar things. These people buy these problems fast because they know they can get homes for 50-70% of the fair market value just by scaring people. They buy these homes from sellers who think if they don't sell now they will lose everything, but if they sell quickly they can save a Realtors commission.
Now let's look at the … (2 comments)

relocation: HOA – What You Need To Know Before You Purchase - 01/16/07 07:29 AM

What is an HOA? HOA stands for Home Owners Association. Here is an example of a home owners association: When you buy a new home you think to yourself "Wow, this home would look great in Forest Green." If the neighborhood that you are planning to buy into has an HOA, you may not have the right to paint your house any color you like.

You need to know what the HOA rules are before you buy a home. An HOA can decide where you can park, the color of your house, if you can put a porch on … (0 comments)

relocation: Things that you should know before relocating - 01/11/07 02:37 PM
If you are moving from one state to another state you may want to look up a "Salary Calculator". (I have one you can go to under Buyers on my home page) A salary calculator will take what you make in your city and state and tell you how much you will need to make in Oregon or SW Washington to be living at the same level you are currently used to. Let us say your company offers you a $20,000 raise to move to Oregon or SW Washington and work here. You and your family get really excited about the … (0 comments)
