water: What do you do when you have 93 degree weather and some inner tubes? - 09/07/11 04:47 AM
What do you do when you have 93 degree weather and some inner tubes? Well, in my son’s case, he took the day and invited some friends over to our family park and started to enjoy a day of riding down the creek.

I have to say, the boys latest longer than I thought they would, since though it was 93 degrees out the water was still only 58 degrees. But, take them off the water for 2 hours, put a burger in their mouth and seems the all forgot about the cold water and were right back in the … (21 comments)

water: Sitting back and taking it all in - 08/14/11 01:38 PM
Sometimes there are days that real estate is crazy and sitting and taking it all in is the best thing to do. Well, this weekend, my family and I got out of town with a Girl Scout family campout and we learned so much out there.
But, one of the best things about the trip was the wonderful creek going through the campground. This creek not only gave me a break from the sounds of the city, but it also gave me a break away from the phone since this wonderful place had no cell service.
You know what the best … (7 comments)

water: I feel the Earth move under my feet - 07/18/11 08:11 AM
In Oregon we get a lot of rain and one of the things rain can do is move Earth and a lot of it. It may not seem like one drop of rain can make a difference in this little world of ours, but if you live on a hill or near a creek, it is something you need to consider when buying insurance for that home.
Above is a picture of my daughter standing on an old street and as you can see from the picture, where she is standing and the rest of the road, don’t exactly meet up … (12 comments)

water: Just having a light afternoon snack - 06/08/11 04:20 PM

This little guy sat up to take notice of us taking pictures of the area and thought he should pop up so we could get a picture of him. This little guy is a nutria, a large rodent who I would consider to be closely related to the beaver.  (Like beaver take up residence on many of Oregon's water ways. Even the though the Beaver if is the official animal of Oregon, I personally have seen a lot more nutria in my life than I have beaver. (Probably because beaver were hunted for their fur in the early days of … (18 comments)

water: Have you ever watched the show cops? Well I got to from next door! - 01/31/09 06:25 AM
A couple weeks ago I wrote a post about watching your vacant home for signs of theft with water, electricity, and who knows what else. Well, today I went over to my parent's old house and discovered the house next door, that was foreclosed on, had an extension cord going from my parent's house to their garage.
I was picking up my parents mail and called my dad to tell him what was going on and happened to have just picked up his electric bill for the house. My dad told me to open it and his electric bill for his vacant … (16 comments)

water: Check on your vacant home or it could cost you! - 01/17/09 04:57 PM
Have you ever had a seller call you interested in selling their present home and buying a new one? Of course we all have, but the seller says, we would like to kind of just start looking around while we fix our present property. Then a wonderful thing happens, within 2 days you find them their dream home, and they just can't wait and buy it.
This was the situation I was in recently with a client. So, they decided to keep the old property vacant so they could go back and get it fixed up and ready to sell, like they … (16 comments)

water: Look I taught my son to write his name (Snow can be fun – Snow Art) - 12/24/08 03:02 AM
If you don't have to go out and try to sell homes, snow can be a lot of fun. Since today is Christmas Eve, I certainly don't plan to go out and sell homes! So, today the family had some fun in our very unusual weather. We did what we call Snow Art!
Snow Art is created by taking empty spray bottles and filling them with water and food coloring and making different colors of water and then spraying the snow making art! You and your kids can draw anything you want in the snow and the only thing stopping you is … (26 comments)
