Third Annual McHenry County Fair BBQ Cookoff
Prize Purse Exceeds $700
McHenry County - BBQUERS start smokin'! The third annual McHenry County Fair BBQ Cookoff takes place Sunday August 3 at the fairgrounds in Woodstock.  This year the Adult Class will cook Beef, Pork, and Poultry.
Children ages 9-18 cook Hamburger, Chicken Leg, and Sausage. Children younger than 16 need to be supervised by an adult.
Adult class prizes total over $550 in cash and prizes. Junior Class prizes total $150.  To be eligible for Adult Class grand prizes, entrants must compete in all three classes. Deadline is July 31.

7:45pm - Dramatic re-enactment of air/sea rescue 8:25pm - Lima Lima (out of Naperville) flyover 8:30pm - Boat Parade 9:30pm - Fireworks
Approximately 35 boats will be decorated with lights and props as they sail along beautiful Lake Michigan, between the Shedd Aquarium at Roosevelt Road and the Chicago Yacht Club at Monroe Street. People of all ages stake out spots along the lakefront as early as 9 a.m. to ensure a good view of the event. With an expected attendance of 675,000, public transportation, walking or biking to Venetian Night is suggested.

Pack a picnic and bring the family out for the 2nd Summer Concert at Village Hall on Wednesday, July 16th at 6:00pm.  Stockwood, the World's Youngest Beatles Tribute Band. For all of you agents who haven't realized that this market is here to stay for a while, I urge you to read the following as posted TODAY on the front page of the Daily Herald:
"The foreclosure problem is getting worse and will stay with us well into the next decade," said Mark Zandi, chief economist for Moody's Economy.com. "The job market is eroding and homeowners have less equity. Lenders are much less willing to work with you if you've got negative equity, and you're more likely to give up your house if you're deeply under water."

Significantly more Chicago area households received some type of foreclosure notice this June than last, suggesting the local foreclosure problem stands to get worse before it gets better.
June foreclosure filings - including default notices, auction sale notices and bank repossessions - increased by 76 percent in Lake County, 53 percent in Cook County, 36 percent in McHenry County, 31 percent in Kane County and 30 percent in DuPage County compared with the same month a year earlier, according to statistics from RealtyTrac Inc.

Agents Listing A Short Sale On Their Own Home - 07/10/08 08:23 AM
 Agents Beware!   The lender can take 100% of your commission and apply it to what's owed the lender if they catch you being the agent of your own Short Sale. 
Think about it.  As the Seller you are not allowed to profit anything from a Short Sale, so why wouldn't the lender take the commissions if they were going to you?  You are asking them to forgive tens of thousands of dollars in debt and you want to try and walk away with a few thousand of that?
