There is no question that in the majority of regions around the nation, sales are off. Real estate in my area has taken on more then 20 days of active market time (DOM = Days on Market) from last year-to-date statistics show. A home that took 41 DOM is now taking 61, on other words. But, that's the average. There are really great properties I've seen sit and sit and sit . . . since APRIL!! With the mortgage lender industry's readjustments, and the typical slowness we experience coming into fall, winter -- the Holiday months -- we are like Heinz (4 comments)

It can be agreed among us: the real estate market has slowed. It can also be agreed that for the majority of the nation, we will be seeing our local weather patterns change and cooling off -- after all, 'tis the season! In fact, most of us are noticing the "Autumnal Equinox" take hold, and change is certainly in the air. My area has glorious fall shades of burgundy reds, crimson oranges, crisp yellows . . . and when I drive through the neighborhoods and see the beautifully changing plants and trees, I say "thank you" to nature for giving me a color palette so vast and vibrant to appreciate. This really is a statement . . . not a question. Buyers make all types of mistakes that can cost them money, or ultimately weaken their negotiation position. WHAT DO BUYERS DO WRONG!?! Talk TOO Much! Being an avid viewer of reality TV cop shows I do know one thing . . . every suspect has a RIGHT - and that is: to remain silent. If I had the ability, I would mandate a real estate disclosure to EVERYBODY that calls the listing agent who is advertising a property for sale. This advertisement can be a FOR SALE sign on the sellers' (1 comments)
