Moving did you make a First Open Box? - 03/31/10 03:53 PM

If your client has bought the home and are making plans to move, do they have a this box? A "first open" box with the things you’ll need most-toilet paper, soap, trash bags, scissors, hammer, screwdriver, pencils and paper, cups and plates, water, snacks, and toothpaste.
I bet there are more items you could suggest for this box, please share.

Home Selling Tip "Painting" - 03/27/10 01:34 PM

Sales Tip Painting the Interior of your Home A Professional painters will probably charge you anywhere from $200 to $500 to paint each room depending on the area you live in, but with a little patience, you can paint the rooms yourself.
Choose a soft color in a light brown tone (never white), and paint every room the same color. The painting will go faster if you paint the ceilings the same color, but ceilings really pop if they are a lighter color than the color of the walls. Lighter colors also make the ceilings appear higher. For a 10 … (11 comments)

Bugged out in Wisconsin - 03/26/10 07:40 AM

Have you seen these little bugs at your house yet this year? Asian beetles, they look like Lady Bugs. Now that the temps are rising in Wisconsin these guys are coming out everywhere. If they land on you they can bite and if you crush them they stink. The best option is to suck them up in your vacuum. They are a nuisance and don't add to a homes appearance at showings. Any ideas of how to get rid of these unwelcome guests.

Smells Great! Tastes even Better! - 03/25/10 05:44 PM
A cheap and tasty way to have people love your home during showings. Not a new idea but one overlooked. Keep a roll of store-bought refrigerated chocolate-chip cookie dough and bake five or six slices while you're double-checking the house. Put the baking sheet in the dishwasher and take the cookies with you. They get the aroma, and you get the cookies!

Winter's last Hurrah!! It snow at my home this past Friday night after enjoying a week of 50-60's. My son made two giant snowballs to see how long they would last. Today the grass is bare again and the two snowballs remain. Lets make it a contest, how long will the snowballs remain? I will post the winner and the date.

Don't put the shovels away yet!! - 03/19/10 08:42 AM

Don't put the shovels away yet, Wisconsin is to get 1-2 inches of snow tonight. This just after enjoying a week of temps in the 50-60's range. To some you may still say burrr. but in Wisconsin that's shorts weather.
Have a great weekend and enjoy March maddness to all you hoops fans.

2 Rules to Negotiate Real Estate - 03/19/10 08:28 AM
Here what I believe to be 2 rules to negotiate real estate. 1. You need to know what you want, be prepared, take your time, and do not be swayed by emotional games that some people will try to play. 2. Be prepared to take as well as to give, and, even though chances are against you getting the perfect deal, at least you can get a good deal that you can live with without remorse. Simple yet so true.

5 Key Concepts of Home Insurance
If you plan to buy a home in the near future, you should be researching the various components of homeowners insurance. Why? Because you’ll need to have a policy in place by the time you close on the house. In fact, your lender will require you to provide proof of insurance on closing day.

" The Leap of Faith" - 03/03/10 05:33 PM

This is called" the leap of faith" Student would jump out of a 3rd story doorway and try to ring a bell. They were safely harnessed but the thought of jumping into nothingness kept me on the ground taking the pictures. This was one of the activities that the youth from my church participated in at the Silver Birch Winter Retreat.

The best way to prevent Foreclosure is talk to your lender - 03/02/10 10:39 AM
The best way to prevent Foreclosure is talk to your lender, don't put it off, be embarrassed or ignore letters from your lender because those responses will make the situation worse, not better.
The best way to avoid foreclosure is to prevent the filing of a "Notice of Default." Lenders do not want to foreclose but will file a Notice of Default to protect their interests, if necessary. If you know you are unlikely to meet your mortgage obligation, the first thing you should do is call your lender. Many lenders work and live in your local community and they … (3 comments)
