Director's Choice: Excerpted from The Journey of Homeownership - 01/31/09 10:22 AM
You've found your dream house and the next few days 'til your appointment you are pumped up with anticipation. Showing day comes-yahoo! You jump into your car and drive to meet your real estate destiny. Traffic cooperates and everything is zipping right along until you pull up to the curb. Uh-oh, what is this? The house looks much smaller, the driveway is narrow with big cracks running through the now gray asphalt, the greenish-brown lawn's decorative border is weaved with the yellow heads of dandellions and other hearty weeds. What the____? The pictures didn't look like that online.

Is There Any Help for Me? I've Become An E-Pro Groupie - 01/28/09 02:19 PM
It's official. I've become a groupie and there might not be any turning back for me....Well sorta. Kathy McGraw extended an offer for me to takeover as the Administrator for the E-Pro Internet Technology Group and I accepted. I am excited for the opportunity to bury myself in good information from posts of the members here on Active Rain and be able to highlight content worthy posts regularly for all to see.... Before I begin I have two disclaimers. Transparency is Key.
Disclaimer I am NOT a real estate agent. I often get confused for a real estate agent and

Life Reflections~I Am Trying To Become the Change I Seek - 01/27/09 11:20 AM
Inspiration on a Tuesday Morning I've got plenty of memes to work on and a few more marketing posts drumming in the back of my head to write and publish this week. I was sitting at my laptop before taking my son to school this morning reading and listening to this post from Patricia Kennedy, "I Just Read Some Really Scary Blog Posts" which has kept my head stir crazy and yearning to be free. It's not so much the conversation of the post but the "scary" concept that has made my mind digress from other tasks this morning. This is not intended as a dig against Patricia. I appreciate her

Conversations Are For Everyone - 01/26/09 12:14 PM
Lately I have been reading more posts about automating the process of social networking and blogging. The time crunch is starting to feed a mentality of an I ROBOT process online. Automation seems to be the only answer to a harried business professional looking for the key to slow this online pace down. Fear is fed to those who haven't engaged in blogging, "It's just not for everyone", some say. I say Beware of Automation. Conversations Are For Everyone. Allow me to bend your ear. Have a Listen, Are you willing to let down your hair and reach out? Consumers are willing to

Let The Information Flow Through You and PULL Clients To You. - 01/21/09 02:56 PM
It's an interesting internet world these days. To say the times are changing is a reality that's understated. To say that moments are changing each and every day is closer to the truth. Illusions are becoming echos of the past. Illusions have been the reality of real estate for over a decade. Look where we all are now. The freedom of information online is not a deterent to business, but when artfully executed, it is a moneymaker. If you are just getting started in social networking and blogging I want to encourage you to let the information flow freely. If

What Dreams Lie Within? This Is Not Your Average Bedtime Story. - 01/16/09 09:51 PM
I am passionate about my work. I really enjoy helping real estate professionals demystify the process of building their own community online. Aside from the obvious reward of money, the friends and genuine gratitude I receive are second to none. Yet....I am continuing to build my business to a point where I can turn it over to somone else. My short long term strategy is to build a business that someone can purchase eventually. I have a dream. My dream is to start my descent into retirement. In the next 3-5 years I want to be at the top

Forward Thinking or Not, You'll Always Have A Blindspot. - 01/12/09 05:54 PM
Isn't it funny how we live as if everyone who comes into our experience walks in our shoes? I admit that I can be guilty of assumptions. That's why when I am preparing for something important, a seminar, a webinar, a "game changer" meeting I ask for advice and reaction from other folks about what I have written or planned. It doesn't mean I am going to change everything or sometimes anything I've done. It means I know there's a different way of looking at things that I haven't even thought of and I am willing to hear them. It

A Resurrected Original without a Remix. Thank you Andrew Lenza - 01/08/09 10:13 AM
Among Andrew Lenza's great original posts layed a gem in April that got me to really think about my future and that of my children's. The post received many comments and I think was one of the few that Andrew wrote that didn't receive a gold star, but was more than star worthy. In my latest reflections and thoughts, I was hoping to be able to read this post again and point readers in it's direction. It is not on the web so Andrew is graciously allowing me to repost it here on my blog. He also is amenable to reblogging.

Across your social networks, your website, your business cards, and your blog are you allowing people to know who you are and what you do? Are you allowing people to easily connect with your service and your message? Can people take a look at your profile or read your blog or website articles and know more through you? Do you have? A brand identity A unique value proposition A recognizable name (not just your company) A non-generic service (niche) You are uniquely you and if you are not, your prospects and even your former clients will forget about you. Inspirational Stories~My 2009 Resolution: Preach Less, Practice More, and Take the Easy Way Out - 01/02/09 02:05 PM
Inspirational Stories~My 2009 resolution is to preach less, practice more, and take the easy way out. Learning to Preach Less Sometimes I speak in metaphors and other times I just speak very conversationally. I like to step away from what I've written and read it aloud. When I read it I before I publish it I ask myself, "Would I have spoken these words had I an audience of 10, 20, 100, or 126,635 before me to hear them?" The answer is always "yes" otherwise the "post this entry button" doesn't get pushed. As for 2009, my resolution
