lead generation: Don't Let Your Real Estate Marketing Mojo Pull the Revenue Producer Out of You - 05/19/10 03:56 PM
Don't Let your Real Estate Marketing Mojo Pull the Revenue Producer Out of You In both large and small businesses there is a palpable tug of war that exists between the marketing and sales departments.  Sometimes the sales department, as revenue producers, eschew the ideas of "those marketing people" who don't ever seem to stick to a timeline.  Sometimes those crazy marketing people, according to the sales department, will produce surprise campaigns that just don't fit the needs of their customers and are full of holes----they just don't think their strategies out before they roll them out.
The marketing department has … (10 comments)

lead generation: Don't Believe the Hype. Manipulation Creates Missed Sales Opportunities - 07/01/09 02:42 AM
Don't Believe the Hype.  Manipulation Creates Missed Sales Opportunities
In every sales situation there are trigger points that once hit on they allow people to purchase goods and services.  When I sold internet marketing products to real estate professionals I was trained to find and hone in on these trigger points.

Old School Sales Skills
1.  I Will Give It To You Today And Take It Away From You Tomorrow- You can have this product for this price today, but tomorrow it will be a different price.
2.  Flattery Will Get You To Buy- I can see you hold such and such designation … (8 comments)

lead generation: Advertise Online ONLY What You Are Willing to Answer - 12/18/08 04:03 PM
Advertise only what you are willing to answer.  A tried and true sales/marketing 101 basic that needs to be a refresher course in Web 2.0.
I look around these expanding social networks and see many faux pas committed among real estate professionals, real estate coaches, real estate speakers, real estate service providers, and marketing and sales folks.
Unresponsive behavior.
It is an especially strange sight to see from social networking and marketing trainers.   I have seen an abundance of preaching when it comes to providing the consumer with information and being responsive who I have seen turn around and not practice … (69 comments)

lead generation: On December 15th Launch A Cyber Open House and Rock the Casbah - 12/08/08 10:36 AM
Where will you be on December 15th?
I will be at my computer along with millions of other Americans shopping for the rest of my holiday gifts and sprucing up my meal plans for the holiday festivities. The Monday two weeks prior to Christmas is traditionally the heaviest online internet shopping day.  It garners even more traffic than Cyber Monday.
Internet traffic jingles December 15th....Go ahead and Get Your Share.
Can a real estate professional break off a piece of that action?  You betcha.  If you want to get internet foot traffic than jingle jangles on December 15th you've got 7 … (37 comments)

lead generation: The Give and Take Away in Real Estate Websites....How Much Freedom Should There Be? - 12/05/08 10:29 AM
The give and take away in real estate websites- how much freedom should there be?

In real estate the first and still present concern of the industry is how much "FREE" information should consumers be given online without capturing their personal information first?  If consumers have access to "FREE" information without a capture the concern is they have now become a lost opportunity.

The "free" information that real estate professionals have is listing information, home sale information, and home evaluation information.
Should this information be kept under lock and key with a form or should consumers have free access … (18 comments)

lead generation: Listing Router is a no brainer hook up to profit. JUST DO IT!!! - 10/30/08 04:02 AM
I'm giving well deserved props to Active Rain for Listing Router.  I only had one concern after reading the posts and watching the video.  Bob's answer nipped it in the bud.

My only concern was....
"What kind of keywords are people searching on A/R member's blogs that more often than not they are leaving??? Is it that more people seem to be searching for listings on A/R than other type of keyword content.
I understand wanting to garner more traffic for the members. I don't understand the "why most people are coming to a blog they don't really want … (63 comments)

lead generation: Interlopers have landed on the internet- Fact or Fiction? - 05/19/08 05:42 AM
Are you re-directing prospects to other real estate agents unintentionally? Are you competing against lead generation companies unwittingly?
In my past life as a sales executive for a few real estate advertising companies I have spoken to hundreds of real estate agents across the country. All of the real estate agents I spoke with had a different view on internet advertising, lead generation, and the hard-earned dollar.
One of the most memorable phone encounters I had was with a real estate agent,I'll call her "Ino evryone" who was not doing ANY advertising on the internet. Ino evryone did not have a … (7 comments)
