harford county real estate: Home Buyer Expectation - 06/04/09 10:51 AM
Buyer Expectations It is amazing of how the market has changed from a sellers market to now a buyers market and the expectations of seller and especially buyers. Just 2-3 years ago, a person selling their home was able to demand the list price, and in many cases; a price above the list. There was then a change to where buyers were very hard to find and sellers had to come to the realization that they will be lucky to get the list price for their home. Recent statistics show that the seller now should expect only about 91% of the

The following is the market report for Abingdon Maryland in the last 7 days of activity: Total Active Properties: 260 Total properties under contract: 45 Total Properties sold in last 30 days: 10 The first week in September shows Abingdon with lots of active properties. harford county real estate: Dive Report - Washingtonian - 09/04/07 07:44 PM
A little off the subject, but thought that some of you might like to hear about something other than mortgage company's, real estate, or what is usually talked about here. This is a dive report for a wreck dive we did on Sunday. Myself and 5 others made the trip to Indian River, DE. to catch the dive boat "To Dive For". We had chartered the boat and decided to dive on the Washingtonian. This ship was sunk in a collision with the Elizabeth Palmer back in 1915 and is laying in 90 feet of water off Ocean City Maryland about 15

harford county real estate: Harford County Market Report - August 2007 - 09/04/07 01:14 PM
The following are the housing statistics for the month of August 2007 in Harford County: Total Active: 1884 (Holding steady compared to July 2007) Total under contract: 131 Total Sold: 273 Total Withdrawn/Expired: 260 The total under contract drastically reduced in numbers for August compared to July, probably due to the fact that folks are getting that last little vacation in and getting the kids ready for school. The total active is holding fairly steady, total sold was slightly up from 254 for July and withdrawn/expired is pretty much the same as July. I would expect things to start picking back up in mid-September. Gary and Mary Nelson, REALTORS Long

On August 27th, the Harford County Public School System will open its doors for the 2007-2008 school year. Please keep this date in mind and drive accordingly to keep our kids safe. Keep the following in mind when driving around the neighborhoods starting next week: Watch out for school buses, it is state law to stop when they are picking up or discharging students.Drive slower around school zones, this makes it safer for students and cheaper on your wallet.Watch out for kids crossing the streets, lots of times, they fail to pay attention.Watch out around public library's, kids will be using them

harford county real estate: BGE Rate Hikes arrives June 1st in Maryland - 05/23/07 08:51 AM
BGE increase starts June 1! On Friday, the Aegis reported that the rate hike for utilities charged by BGE will arrive on June 1. This hike is expected to increase our utility bill to about 50% of your average bill and will affect approxmately 90% of the residents of Harford County. This could be one of the reasons that Harford County home buyers are not out as expected for the usual spring push. I remember back a little over a year ago during our elections when this BGE rate hike first came to our attention. Back then, the legislators enacted a bill that

harford county real estate: School Board! Elected or Appointed? - 03/09/07 06:41 PM
Harford County Letter to the Editor The Aegis, March 7, 2007 An article from a Harford County School student concerning the school board, and whether this group should be elected or appointed. Currently, the Harford County School Board is appointed, but many counties in Maryland are discussing/already have school boards that are elected by the constituents. My opinion! Let the people in the community elect the school board so that those it affects most can have a say in how the schools are managed. School boards that are appointed may not necessarily get quality people, ever hear of the "Good

harford county real estate: Flying Point Park, Harford County Maryland - 03/09/07 04:46 PM
Flying Point Park, located in Edgewood Maryland is where I launch my boat at a majority of the time. Located on the Bush River with easy access to the Chesapeake Bay, Flying Point has excellent boat launch facilities. Next to the park is Flying Point Yacht Club for fuel if needed. Flying Point Park also has an area for picnics and fishing. Next time your looking for something to do, keep in mind that we have some great parks in Harford County. harford county real estate: Edgewood Maryland Market Report - 03/09/07 02:33 PM
The following is the statistics for activity of homes located in Edgewood Maryland. It was amazing to me to find that there is a home listed for 1.1 million dollars in Edgewood. I went back and looked in our MLS and found that this is the one and only home listed for this price. There also has never been a home in Edgewood that sold for over 1 million dollars.

harford county real estate: Harford County Schools have automated alert system - 02/28/07 06:38 PM
From the Baltimore Sunday Sun: I was reading this article about an alert system that the Harford County School System is presently using that alerts parents to general and emergency information that might be happening in their schools. This system will alert all parents or just a group of parents as needed on things such as general information like "report cards are being sent home today", "your childs school bus is running a little late" and other information as the school see fit. It will also alert parents of children who does not show up for school. Recently, we had a ice storm

harford county real estate: The Time has come.... - 02/28/07 02:16 PM
Well, back in December, our Siberian Husky Dakota gave birth to 9 fine looking Siberian pups. It is now a little over 8 weeks later and I am sad to say that the last one will be leaving us this week for it's new owners. A little about breeding dogs, it takes a lot of work and patience. I don't recommend it for the faint at heart. Dakota is getting along and seems to be happy that all the pups are pretty much on their own. I think she was getting tired of having the little ones literally underfoot. Chasta never lost his

harford county real estate: Websites that CAN help you. - 02/09/07 10:46 PM
In this world of technology, one of the things I love is the ability to find out loads of information with a simple search on the internet. It has been my thinking for awhile now that information might be the most important comodity that a person can own. Below are some of the many websites I use in the course of our business: Logmein.com: Logmein.com allows me to access my home computer from anywhere I can get an internet access. Whether at the office, library, or on my laptop with a wireless connection, I can access my home computer to retrieve that
