Two for Tuesday - It Happened Again...This Time, Right on Top of Mount Maurice in Red Lodge, Montana
I had a recent post where I featured a double rainbow taken over Red Lodge (on July 11, 2010): Speechless Sunday - Double Rainbow Over Red Lodge  .
Less than a week later, on July 17, 2010, it happened again!  I think this one is equally if not more beautiful as the sun was also hitting part of the mountain (Mount Maurice).
Here are a couple of photos of this beautiful moment in time.

This is your Two for Tuesday!

Moose Monday - I Saw Moose in Yellowstone National Park! - 07/26/10 02:47 AM
Moose Monday - I Saw Moose in Yellowstone National Park!
I was lucky to spot this mother and calf from a distance (near the bottom center of the following photo).

Then they decided to swim in the lake.   See photo in last week's post: Moose Monday - Moose Memorable Moment of My Latest Visit to Yellowstone National Park
I had to run to my car and to safety once I saw in my viewfinder that the moose where swimming in my direction (objects/animals may be closer than you realize by the time you stop looking through the viewfinder!).
From the seat … (21 comments)

Moose Monday - Moose Memorable Moment of My Latest Visit to Yellowstone National Park
No, it is not Wordless Wednesday (it's Moose Monday) but words could not describe my first moose sighting in Yellowstone National Park.   I had been to Yellowstone National Park 3 times last year but with no luck with regards to spotting my favorite wild animal.  I was hoping this would change on my most recent and first visit to the park in 2010 and it did just in the nick of time on day 2!
As I was planning to leave the park from the East entrance, I spotted not one, but … (23 comments)

I am back to Red Lodge after a short visit to Yellowstone National Park.
Here are photos captured on the morning of July 13, 2010 from the West Thumb of Yellowstone Lake.  You got to be up early to see these magnificent views!

Here are some other early birds!  :)

Here are the much awaited photos of the sunrise from the West Thumb of Yellowstone National Park.

Some elks decided to pay me a visit between the two photos above of the sunrise.

Moose Monday - Moose in the Sky, You Know How I Feel - Guess Which Direction I Am Headed? - 07/12/10 06:10 AM
Moose Monday - Moose in the Sky, You Know How I Feel - Guess Which Direction I Am Headed?
I am heading to Yellowstone National Park and just before I head out of the house here are a couple of photos for Moose Monday.

If the moose in the sky is a sign, I moose be headed towards some great photo shooting opportunities!  :)
Who knew that there are moose in the sky?    This one must have been on cloud 9.

I am sure I will soon be too as I am moosely excited to see and take photos of what awaits me … (18 comments)

Speechless Sunday - Double Rainbow Over Red Lodge - 07/11/10 09:54 PM
Speechless Sunday - Rainbow Over Red Lodge
I am going to Yellowstone National Park tomorrow (Monday) and looking forward to it.  Did you know that the Northeast entrance to Yellowstone National Park is only 69 miles from Red Lodge?
As I posted some of my best photos of last weekend's Rodeo of Champions and July 4th parade (Photos of Red Lodge Rodeo and July 4th Parade - Red Lodge, Montana (Part 1)), it rained for a very brief time and immediately cleared up with this very beautiful and colorful view.

I guess this photo opportunity timed itself perfectly for Speechless Sunday.

I will have more photos online in the next week.  I have a feeling this will be at least a 5 parts series of photo posts (if I stick to 15 photos per post).   Stay tuned!

Speechless Sunday - Sitting Eagle Meets Crow Chief - 07/11/10 09:47 AM
Sitting Eagle Meets Crow Chief
The following is a very fierce looking crow I met which was perched high on an eagle carving.

Both birds had that fierce look in their eye!

On this day, I was more intimidated by the one that decided to pay me a closer visit!

DON'T MESS WITH THIS CROW CHIEF!
Happy Sunday from Montana.

Moose Monday - Fourth Post of Four: Mocha Moose Espresso - The Moose is Loose in Roberts, Montana - 07/05/10 11:59 PM
Mocha Moose Espresso - The Moose is Loose in Roberts, Montana
On Sunday, during the Red Lodge July 4th parade, I made another moose sighting.
No, a real moose did not decide to come down on main street wearing red, white and blue but the moose moosely appeared by surprise in the logo and name of a new coffee place in Roberts, Montana called Mocha Moose Espresso.  Roberts is only 13 miles north of Red Lodge and on highway 212 towards Billings, Montana.  The exact address is 310 S Railway Avenue on the south end of Roberts.
Here is the photo I moosely wanted … (22 comments)

Art in the Beartooths 2010 will take place on Saturday, July 10th, in Red Lodge's Lion's Park. The signature artist this year will be John Potter.  Above is one of his most recent painting: Rosebud Repose which John submitted as the signature piece for this year's art event.
John Potter's website is: www.johnpotterstudio.com (go check out some of his other amazing paintings!)
For the event, tents will be set up in Lion's Park where more than 30 artists will be creating artwork which will then be offered for live auction later in the evening. The … (6 comments)

Moose Monday - Second of Four Posts: A Moose Visit to the Beartooth Nature Center in Red Lodge, Montana - 07/05/10 01:05 PM
A Moose Visit to the Beartooth Nature Center in Red Lodge, Montana
I enjoy giving private guided tours at the Beartooth Nature Center (BNC): www.beartoothnaturecenter.org
After one of my most recent tours, I stumbled on a plush toy moose (feel free to come up with a name for him) and decided to show him around the BNC.
When I presented him to Rudy, the mule deer, this was the reaction.

How cute?  Don't you agree?

When I presented him to Clyde, the coyote, this was the reaction.

Scary, isn't it?   [PLEASE SEE MY COMMENT (#17) BELOW THIS POST]

Moose Monday - First of Four Posts: Moose in Philadelphia at the July 4th Fireworks
So I woke up in the middle of my sleep and as luck wanted it, I was browsing online through the photos on an AOL July 4th article when I stumbled across this Moose photo.
Before you comment on this photo, please note that it is not my photo but a photo by Matt Rourke for the Associated Press.

Canada Day and Independence Day in Red Lodge, Montana - Two in One Photo! - 07/04/10 10:06 PM
Canada Day and Independence Day in Red Lodge, Montana - Two in One Photo!
I hope my Canadian friends had a great day celebrating Canada Day and that my American friends had a great day celebrating Independence Day (there is still a few more hours left to celebrate the latter and with lots of fireworks).
Here is a photo I took earlier this afternoon during the parade in Red Lodge.

I took about a hundred photos and will share some of my best photos of this year's Rodeo/4th of July parades (that took place on Friday, Saturday and Sunday) early next week!

They Are Everywhere! Another Strange Out-Of-This-World Encounter! - 07/02/10 12:44 PM
They Are Everywhere!  Another Strange Out-Of-This-World Encounter!
As I was checking The Local Rag newspaper, I found out that today (July 2) is UFO Day.
Here are a couple photos I meant to post on AR for quite some time and to the group: PARANORMAL STORIES & EXPERIENCES .
Here is a very strange scene that was just staring at me in the streets of downtown Montreal in January 2010.  I immediately thought that I had to capture it to share with my friend Vegas Bob on ActiveRain.   I was trying to get in the festive holiday shopping mood but I was caught by surprise and in a … (13 comments)

Happy Birthday Canada! from Red Lodge, Montana - 07/01/10 08:38 PM
Happy Birthday Canada!   from Red Lodge, Montana
Today is Canada Day.  I want to take the time to wish all my friends and family in Canada, a very Happy Canada Day.
I had to search long and hard in town to find a Canadian flag.
But here it is, the lone Canadian flag on this Canada day in Red Lodge.   It was located at Chateau Rouge (the name is French for red castle).

Thank you Chateau Rouge for having a Canadian flag displayed by the front entrance.   You made this Canadian's day and got a feature on this Red Lodge Blog!  :)
