teamwork: Looking for relief in 2009 but it is no blank slate - 12/28/08 05:20 PM
Knowledge is power. Please do not add "or so they say". Kowledge is power. I have noticed a trend over my lifetime among people and their individual approaches to facing and solving challenges. Like it or not we can all be "pigeon holed" into certain personality traits even though we may have varying aspects to our personality.
Perhaps the most common response to the current real estate and finance situation that I have seen is for people simplyto panick and role up like an armadilo. It kind of reminds me of the super-hero in the credit card commercial who freaks out … (8 comments)

teamwork: Project Unity: Active in the Common Rain - 10/22/08 03:32 PM
We have the power. We have the skills. We have the experience. We have the tools. We have the resources. We have the time. We have the intent.
Hmmmm .... "we have the intent".
Most of us have heard the old saying "the road to hell is paved with good intentions." No, it's not in the Bible or any other globally recognized religious document - to my knowledge. It is, however, a very true saying. "Did you pay your mortgage on time? - no, but I intended to."
The older I get the more I really most of our business differences … (4 comments)

teamwork: ARGH! When You're Down FIGHT HARDER! - 01/15/08 01:22 PM
I just re-read what I wrote ... please put on your welding goggles:
I have seen some really smart and seasoned people just give up. Then there are the "low lifes" that are still in the business. You know what the one major separating factor is? Most low lifes fight harder. Think about it, as a general rule would you rather have a fist fight with a young priest or a middle aged ex-con?
This industry, the media, the government - all of that is in your face right now throwing punches. Even the general public, paralyzed by fear and caged by confusion, … (17 comments)

teamwork: Building A Network? Bring FOOD! - 06/08/07 01:02 PM
There is at least one thing every person I have ever met has in common: we all have to eat. Like the commercial says, "You gotta eat. Who do you think you are? You won't get far. You gotta eat."
Agreed! I eat about four times every day. Breakfast, lunch, dinner and a late light snack - usually. My wife eats three times a day. Everyone who works for me eats at least once every day that I know of and they probably eat two or three other times as well. All of my clients eat and sometimes we eat together. Every … (3 comments)

teamwork: Credit Freeze And Impact On Mortgage Timeline - 01/31/07 03:16 PM
Actually I believe the ability to freeze one's credit is an awesome concept and should be implemented. I don't like it when I look at my own credit report and see that my credit has been examined during the last X months when I know it was not I who authorized such an event. Be that as it may there is something coming your way like a dust storm ripping across Death Valley ahead of a cold front: Credit Freeze, state by state.
I was under the impression that the ammendments to the FCRA gave the individual the right to prohibit credit … (2 comments)

teamwork: Peaceful Thoughts and Blessings for all on Active Rain (or AR Beatitudes) - 01/13/07 09:11 PM
Just a few weeks ago I blogged on How Active Rain Changed My Life. And it has. And it still is changing my life - perhaps more than any other organization or group of which I am part.
I come here to relax, learn and share - in that order. Some postings I take personally and respond in kind. Oh, I do try and hold my tongue when it will only spew frustration. I do, after all, realize that I am not in the minority in Actively Raining for relaxation. And, our client base is reading.
The last couple of days have not … (6 comments)

teamwork: Time Limit on Loan Approval on GAR Contract? Okay, go ahead ... - 01/13/07 11:19 AM
OH MY GOODNESS! I spent a full hour typing a beautiful blog posting and got nailed by the world famous Windows blue screen of death. Gone, poof. Just like a bad loan at the 11th hour. I did all that work and got nothing from it. Just like a bad loan at the 11th hour. This originally started as a comment to Tim Maitski: On "New Georgia Contracts. Lenders Will Need to be Quicker"John Adam's show but grew into a post of its own. I hope I can remember what I had typed because it was gooooooood. Even though I was interrupted … (10 comments)

teamwork: It's YOUR Fault! No, it's YOUR Fault! Well it's not MYYYYYY Fault! Yes it is! No it's NOT! ... - 09/10/06 03:27 PM
It's wonderful to be in the position to site around both campfires. I mean be in on meetings for both loan originators and real estate agents. There is a good deal of enlightenment from this opportunity.
One thing that never ceases to amaze me is the lack of realization that this is much more a 50/50 team work opportunity than either "side" would like to concede. At times agents feel that the loan originator just takes the application and says "yes" or "no" failing to have the slightest bit of understanding that the loan originator may spend as many as 10 … (3 comments)
