OK, now that you have - Let me give you a bit of back story of why it's part of this post.
I spoke this week at a Home Staging/Model Merchandisingevent at our local HBA (National Association of Home Builders.) The event was driven by dual needs of Builders - Selling their product and advising their clients how to sell their existing homes.  In this trying Real Estate market, everyone is looking for insight, tips and techniques to make a quicker sale.

Just got word that another of my series of interior design work for HGTV's "My First Place will be airing  - HMFP-1209, is scheduled to premiere Tuesday, January 12th at 8:00 pm ET (7:00 pm central).
Filmed in Wrigleyville, this fabulous flat's 2nd bedroom had some decorating challenges!  Take an akward 9'x15' space with one big Honkin' window from Manly Minimal to Lady Executive Chic!  Too... Work within a budget shopping from furniture to flowers and style it in 1/2 a day.  Oh yeah, in the parking poor city of Chicago on a Saturday!!!

Home Staging is all the buzz right now, TV shows, newspaper features and a zillion books to give you the scoop about how is was created , who created it, and how the common man can execute it.  Staging is nothing new.  Ask any 20 year veteran Realtor, and they'll tell you they've been doing it forever. 
  
Truth be told, the history of home staging is inconsequential, but the history of how we look at our homes and more importantly - ourselves is monumental.

This 1.5 Million Dollar new custom built home had been on the market for well over the 2007 calendar year.  In a tony western Chicago-land suburb, this was 1 of 6 new  empty homes for sale on the block, and one of SO MANY in the community and area.  This now lovely lady went from "Oh so many languishing," -  to SOLD SOLD SOLD.
Why was it languishing?
-Empty homes struggle to find an identity buyers can emotionally connect to.
-After viewing three - they can't decipher one from the rest.
