Activism: What Members of the Illinois Chapter Have Accomplished in 2009

If you are a newer member to the Illinois Chapter, you may be wondering what we accomplished this year and where you can plug in for activism in the coming new year. Here is a list of what TZM activists did in 2009 to help spread awareness about the 10-month-old Zeitgeist Movement with an operating budget of zero:

- Coordinated and held a ZDay 2009 Event on March 15, 2009

- Created a Chicago City Ning Social Group that Evolved into the Official State Chapter and Official Illinois State Chapter Website

- Represented the Zeitgeist Movement at Chicago Critical Mass Bike Rides in Chicago

- Began Weekly Online Meetings to Coordinate State Activism

- Developed Several YouTube Video Presentations on Subjects Related to TZM

- Developed a Webinar/pdf Presentation on the Mythological & Astrological Roots of Religion to Present Day and How This Influenced Mankind's Development

- Handed Out Hundreds of Free Zeitgeist Addendum dvds to Moviegoers on Opening Weekend of Michael Moore's Film Capitalism: A Love Story (Landmark Century Cinema, Chicago)

- Started a ZM Support Group in an Illinois High School - Very Cool!

- Handed Out Hundreds of Free Zeitgeist Addendum dvds to Protestors at the Showdown in Chicago Rally (including Illinois Senator Dick Durbin)

- Attended a Public Lecture About the Future of Technology

- Prepared a 10 minute Speech About Technology for a Local Toastmasters Group

- Dropped Off Addendum dvds, Brochures and Info Cards at Local Grocery Stores and Businesses Community Bulletin Boards.

Online IL Chapter Meetings this Sunday About ZDay 2010 & The Venus Project World Tour

We are back to meeting weekly online for live voice and text chat meetings Sunday evening from 7pm - 9pm. This coming Sunday, we will be discussing plans for ZDay 2010 which has been scheduled for Saturday, March 13th. We have been trying to connect with a local university willing to host this, but have not been able to secure anything just yet. So, if you have a connection to a college and/or venue that you think would benefit from hosting the event, please let us know. The event will likely consist of showing some of the films and/or lectures and will involve Question and Answer sessions and socialization. Potential venues need to be equipped with a standard LCD Projector equipment and ideally seat a minimum of 150, hopefully more.

Also, the Venus Project is planning a world tour next year and we would like for Illinois to be a stop along the way. This may mean that Jacque and Roxanne may travel in to speak or we may simply be involved in a gallery showing of Venus Project designs and plan an event around a presentation of Jacques models. We need your help to make this happen. If this sparks any ideas for you or you have resources/connections that would be ideal for such an event, please email me and join us, if you can, in the meeting on Sunday to discuss.

It is recommended, but not required, that you use a microphone for the Ventrilo meetings. Your computer may have one built in or you can attach one externally. Microphone/headsets for computer use can run as cheap as $15-20 at retail stores that sell electronics. If you do not have a microphone, you can listen and participate via the text chat feature.

Please don't be shy in joining us for online meetings. We are excited to get to know you and work with you toward our common goals! As these meetings grow, we will be able to spin off into local in person meetings. But we can't prepare to do that unless we know the demand is there in each state region and we know we can depend on participation. Of course, if you are interested in initiating an in-person meeting, feel free to do so and use our website forum to announce this.

Which system offers more abundance, an economy using the monetary system or a resource based economy? Perceived Abundance vs. True Abundance? Label of Scarcity in a monetary system or access to all resources in a RBE? In the 21st Century man should be moving beyond the limits of our current divisionary systems, establishments, and institutions to a system that provides everyone to live in an enhanced lifestyle that is sustainable. I'm seeing first hand around the world, people educating themselves and promoting a RBE. Do your research, it is an amazing system.

People spend so much money on materialistic garbage, yet they will not spend money towards the growth of their business. Why?

Why are people unwilling to spend money on their business in which the rate of return of the cost can be infinite?

Remember Al Gore and his cronies have stated that CO2 is causing rising temperatures around the World where in fact rising temperatures cause more CO2 in the atomosphere. He is promoting the idea to fradulently tax everyone for their personal role in Global Warming. The Cap and Trade Bill has come from this along with The Copenhagen Treaty which would be the prime tax for Global Governance. 31,000 scientists are speaking out against Al Gore and his false claims. You should too! Unless of course you love to be over taxed.
