I would be interested in gaining feedback from my AR community on incentive programs offered to agents/brokers when recruiting additional agents to the office. 
Currently, I have a program for my 95/5 (full) agents when recruiting another 95/5 (full) agent.  I provide them $500 immediately and then place their name in a drawing for $2500 at our annual Holiday Party. 
I would like to hear some ideas for the agents that recruit for me that are on splits, such as 70/30 or 80/20?  What if they recruit someone that comes in on a 70/30 or 80/20 and not 95/5, how can … (2 comments)

Chalk Walk in Beaufort South Carolina this weekend! - 10/30/08 08:45 AM

The Arts Council of Beaufort County will be presenting a Global Street Art Festival at Beaufort Town Center. There will be street painters, performers puppeters, local art and music.
Streetpainters will begin at 8am, the rest of the festivities will start at 10am.  The festival will end at 5:00 p.m. EST.
Special Guests include Chalk artist Lee Jones, Jef the Mime, The Great Fettucini (juggler).  And Yostie (puppeter).
Beaufort South Carolina has a wonderful Art Community.  We hope you can join us for Chalk Festival this weekend!

Beaufort South Carolina Association of Realtors, RPAC Oyster Roast - 10/29/08 04:33 PM
Beaufort Association of Realtors  hosted an Oyster Roast to benefit RPAC (Realtors Political Action Committee).  The event was held at Pinckney Retreat, which is a wonderful waterfront neighborhood in the Beaufort area.  The event was well attended, with music being provided by country music writer and singer Brannan Logan!

Each year, members of Main Street Beaufort  participate in the historic downtown Beaufort Trick or Treat Night.  The event was well attended with some of the best costumes ever...wait till you see these cute kids!!  RE/MAX Sea Island Realty remained open and handed out HUGE amounts of candy to the Trick or Treaters.

Tomorrow morning at 7:00 a.m. EST, I watch my final day of Brian Buffini's 100 Days to Greatness  on RE/MAX Satellite Network (RSN).  The interesting thing about this is: "I don't sell real estate.  I am a non-competing owner Realtor."  I wanted to go through the course to make sure that it was something I wanted to promote to my agents.  Well, it exceeded my expectations! 
100 Days to Greatness shows a new agent or an experienced agent how to work their real estate business by referral.

Checking in on the Bluff Farm neighborhood on Ladys Island near Beaufort South Carolina, there are 5 active listings with the lowest being priced at $235,000 and the highest at $398,000.  This makes the median home price in Bluff  Farm, $289,900 with 206 Days on the Market. 

Unfortunately, there have been no homes sold in Bluff Farm for the year of 2008.  I am trying to determine why homes are not selling in Bluff Farm.  The price per square foot ranges from $120.67 to $165.83.  All available homes were built between the years of 1984 and 1986, so certainly some updating may … (0 comments)

Checking on the SOLDS for Telfair/Rosewalk this week, we are at 26 for the year of 2008 with the median selling price coming in at $211,500 with 166 Days on the Market.
There are several rental homes available in Telfair/Rosewalk, so if you are seeing lots of For Sale signs, many are for rentals and not actually being SOLD.

Mary McClaskey WINS 3rd Quarter!! - 10/09/08 02:25 PM
Mary McClaskey of RE/MAX Sea Island Realty won the 3rd quarter of 2008 parking spot at the office.  She had over $66,000 in commissions for the 3rd quarter of 2008. Mary will enjoy the free parking space in the back of the office for October, November and December.  The RE/MAX Sea Island Realty office is located in historic downtown Beaufort, which has mostly monthly or metered parking, so a free parking space is a great WIN around here!!

Attached are the weekly statistics for Royal Pines on Ladys Island near Beaufort South Carolina.  I removed the Eagle Trace, even numbers on Marsh Drive, etc that are not actually Royal Pines proper.  Here are our active listings:

There have been 24 homes sold in Royal Pines in the year of 2008.  The lowest priced sold was $202,000 and the highest priced at $327,000.  This makes the price per square foot low price at $108.33 per square foot and the highest at 166.45 per square foot.

This past weekend was Shrimp Festival in Beaufort South Carolina.  If you did not make it this year, it is held annually each October in Beaufort's Waterfront Park.

5K Race for Shrimp Festival - and a Popcorn Race - 10/06/08 04:51 PM
On Saturday morning, October 4th, runners met at the starting line for a 5K run for the Beaufort South Carolina Shrimp Festival.  Participating from RE/MAX Sea Island Realty  is Gretchen Krapf of The Chris Skrip Team and some of her friends.  We are very happy to say that Gretchen finished the race in good shape and with a smile on her face.

Beaufort South Carolina International Chalk Festival - 10/01/08 02:02 PM
Beaufort South Carolina's, Beaufort County Arts Council  will be having an International Chalk Festival on Saturday, November 1st, 2008.  The festival starts at 10:00 a.m. and will run until around 5:00 p.m.; however the street painters can start at 8:00 a.m.  Lee Jones, who is a professional chalk artist, will be featured at the festival.  Awards will be provided in several categories.  The Last Waltz will be providing music for the event.  They are from Atlanta Georgia and play lots of Bob Dylan style music.

Mike Sackman  just became the newest member of RE/MAX Sea Island Realty in historic Beaufort South Carolina.  Mike is moving over from Realty Executives to RE/MAX Sea Island Realty today 10/1/08.  Mike was first licensed in 2004 and is joining as a Broker Associate. Mike has enjoyed a booming real estate career in the Beaufort South Carolina area for the past 4 years.
Mike retired from the U.S. Navy in 2004 after serving 22 years as a Senior Chief (E8) and Master Diver. Also, Mike is a licensed Coast Guard Captain.  You just can't beat the fishing trips to the Gulf Stream on Mike's boat!!!
