Seems like excellent advice, doesnt it? My dad taught me that statement many years ago. I never really knew what he was talking about until I was old enough to figure it out. And, I think it makes more sense now that I'm in a commission-based sales position than it ever has in my entire life.

Before we get into this, let's take a quick look at the current situation in the housing market. All indicators point to the fact that interest rates will be dropping further. This is going to lead to a rapid increase in refinancing for existing mortgages and, I believe, a significant increase in first-time home purchases as buyers that have been "riding the fence" finally feel that it is time to jump into the pool.
The kicker with the majority of these new buyers is that they are either younger GenXers or even GenYers.

One of the more routine activities of a Realtors(c) job is to write copy for the ads that are used to support your listings. Whether those be online, print, brochures, or flyers, the goal of these ads is create a positive explanation of the property that will increase the flow of traffic to that ad from interested buyers. And, lets face it....that is the ultimate goal in this form of advertising.

Many of you may know that I grew up in a small town...and I know small is a relative term to most. I am talking less than 1,000 people when I graduated high school. My graduating class had 29 kids in it. Im talking small town.

I was talking with an agent friend of mine over the phone discussing the power of having a home staged to help it sell quickly. Marti is a big believer is using a home stager for her listings. She feels that it cleans up the look and gives her listings a much more ‘manicured' look. Changing the furnishings, painting, etc...all can add loads of ‘appeal' to the listing. My son just got a new bike!! And, like any good red-blooded American, I decided I would do a little maintenance on it for him. But, in order to do that, I needed my handy dandy pliers! So, I try to get into my tool box...and the lid wasn't working right. In fact, it wasn't working at all. Like any good red-blooded American, I forced it open...only to break the spring that hinges the back and provides the tension that holds the lid up.
