real estate referrals: EVERYONE should do this: Power Copywriting - 02/05/08 02:27 AM
So what's POWER COPYWRITING? It's an excellent way to write that I ran across the other day in a totally non-real estate related blog. It involves addressing every possible angle or obstacle your client would have against working with you, while emphasizing your benefits and being completely up-front about your flaws. We've been taught since day one that "if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is..." With that said, I took an afternoon and followed the Power Copywriting structure to write up our company's benefits.
Here are the different areas to consider:

real estate referrals: How $99 Referrals Can Be Worth More than $1,075 Leads - 01/16/08 06:21 AM
How much would you pay for a good referral?
I mean a referral that, let's say, had a 20% chance of buying or selling their home within a year?
Now that may not sound like much at first. But consider the fact that, unlike with traditional lead programs, where there's a slight chance that 1 in 100 of the leads you get will turn into a closing...but our average closing rate is 1-in-5.
That sounds too good to be true, doesn't it? Why do you think that is?

real estate referrals: How Lead Generation Almost Ruined My Real Estate Career - 12/20/07 01:17 AM
True story...
It was a lead generation company that almost made me quit the real estate business altogether. It made my blood boil. I almost swore off internet prospecting altogether.
...Almost.
Because in the process, I learned some very valuable lessons from my mistakes. I carefully watched how this company did business and how they treated their real estate agents. I noticed and I swore that if I ever started … (8 comments)

real estate referrals: How to Work More Effectively with Internet Buyer Referrals - 12/11/07 01:21 AM
Are all internet referrals worthless? Of course not.  At least, not when you know how to identify where they are in the buying cycle and how to use this knowledge to your advantage when working with a prospect.  This blog post will show you how.
First, a common misconception among real estate agents is that Internet referrals are only out to waste their time.  If you approach a buyer who has contacted you on the Internet - realize that they're likely still in the very beginning of the homebuying process -- looking at what's for sale, figuring out how much they can … (6 comments)

real estate referrals: 5 Things Every Agent MUST Know Before Choosing a Referral Company......www.RECR.com - 11/23/07 03:09 AM
Every agent knows that services like HomeGain and HouseValues are still licking their wounds after being crushed (in the form of a $900,000+ profit loss) in a recent lawsuit.
But many agents still rely on services like these to help them add to their existing business. And rightly so - because when done right, online referral efforts really DO pay off.
So what should an agent know before they choose a "lead generation" company?
1. Know that no service, not even referral generation, will be 100% perfect all of the time.  Like other forms of business, real estate lead generation follows … (7 comments)
