Matt Stigliano, San Antonio Real Estate Agent joins RE/MAX ACCESS in Garden Ridge, Texas. - 07/31/09 05:53 PM

I love talking about myself.
Actually, I don't.  But I do love to see my name in print!  My broker, Sheila Moran of RE/MAX Access gives you the scoop on none other than me.  As you can see from my comment, I love it here.  It's only been a short time, but already I can see I've made a great decision to come to Garden Ridge.  And it's not just Sheila.  It's everyone in the office.  The office has a great vibe to it - everyone isn't just here for the paycheck, we're here to do an incredible job - … (12 comments)

The Tap Exhchange - San Antonio's Place For Beer, Food, and Conversation. - 07/31/09 10:45 AM
The Tap Exchange in San Antonio, Texas.
The Tap Exchange isn't your typical "drink 'em as fast as you can pour them" bar.  It isn't your typical "we're all wearing turtlenecks and drinking martinis while listening to ambient trance" bar.  This isn't your typical "dive" bar.  It's not even your typical Texas "icehouse."  The Tap Exchange is a "pub" in the greatest sense of the word.  Having traveled the globe and drank in some of the best pub's on earth, it's something I consider myself an expert on.  Having an English wife only makes me a little more of a pub-aficionado.

Predatory Vending - Sales Calls With Teeth - 07/25/09 03:48 PM

We all get calls.  We hope they're good ones.Since becoming a Realtor®, my phone rings daily.  When I pick it up, I hope there's a friendly buyer or seller on the other end, eager to discuss their next move in the word of real estate, but the reality is that they are often sales calls from this or that company looking to sell me the latest and greatest real estate-based product. Most of the time I let them get through a bit of their pitch to tell them I'm not interested.  I'm sure they hate … (10 comments)

I hate this sort of phone call.
I'm picking up the phone in just a moment.  It's the sort of phone call I hate to have to place.  I have to let a client know some news that changes everything for them today.  As of this morning, they were happy people.  This afternoon, they won't be.  We've been looking for a property for them for two weeks now.  We're looking at foreclosures mostly and we finally found one that was going to serve their needs.  We wrote a very strong offer after I did my research … (13 comments)

Congratulations ActiveRain Ambassadors - 07/13/09 09:34 PM

What can I say?
I feel like I need to make an acceptance speech and start thanking everyone on earth that I can think of.  But instead, I've chosen to say a few simple things.
ActiveRain - Thanks.  I'm honored to in this group and think it's going to be a great time.  I appreciate all you've done for me (both as a network and on a personal level in interacting with you at different times).
Ambassadors - I look forward to seeing what we all can do.  I've said it before, but I truly think some of the businesses … (20 comments)

Social Networking at SABOR - 07/13/09 04:19 PM
I found this in my inbox today.
My local board, the San Antonio Board of Realtors® (SABOR), who I recently praised for making an honest attempt to bring our association into the world of social media, sent it out in our Monday update email.  I saw it and noticed it was touted as a "hands on" course about social networking (in the actual email).  You can imagine that I was thinking, "what a great idea!"  I was...for a moment.
What I quickly realized was something that I think will either a) keep people from getting involved or b) get agents to … (30 comments)

Helpful or Harmful? Trulia Real Estate Search and accurate data. - 07/05/09 09:17 PM

I have said it before and I'll say it again.
I'm an overall fan of Trulia and the service they provide.  I think they have a better product than most of the national real estate search sites and are extremely user and agent friendly.  But, that doesn't mean I love everything they do.  As an active participant in Trulia Voices, I enjoy the thought that the consumer can ask questions and get answers from real estate professionals, but of course, there are some problems with that thought (those are another story altogether, so we'll leave it … (15 comments)
