clients: Friends or Acquaintances? Which Do You Seek From Your Clients? - 03/03/10 01:45 PM
photo courtesy of StuSeeger Are online friends your friends? Last week I wrote a post at AgentGenius about connecting with clients and consumers on a more meaningful basis than just business. That article, prompted a response by AgentGenius writer Ken Montville, "Your Client Doesn’t Care: A Contrarian View" about how the consumer doesn't care for your friendship - they just want a great real estate agent. He's right, most consumers want to hire the best real estate professional the world has ever seen and little more. But during that time, they have a basic human need - that of connection.

clients: A simple way to connect with your local world of real estate. - 09/10/09 08:22 AM
photo courtesy of chazzvid Simplicity. Connecting with others is probably one of the most important aspects of real estate. We all work hard to be the neighborhood expert, the local agent, or the recognized authority on given subjects pertaining to our field. We are always searching for new ways to show our skills, dedication, and knowledge. Anyone who knows me, knows I'm not a fan of the hard sell. I don't "advertise" my skills in traditional fashion. I am more about connecting with locals and letting them make informed decisions about me. I want them to want me to be

clients: Bringing up the past: It's Time To Bury This Monster - 08/30/09 09:11 PM
March 24, 2009 Flashback I wrote this post back on the 24th of March. It was important to me when I wrote and it's still important today. I've been lucky to not hear this phrase since I wrote it (let's keep it that way) until this afternoon when I got the ActiveRain Newsletter (August 30, 2009). The headline read "Are Buyers Really Liars? What Saying This Really Says About YOU!" and was the featured post of the day. An article by Kevin Tomlinson of Miami Beach, Florida in which Kevin goes through a little history of the phrase "Buyers are liars."

clients: How I almost quit real estate in 30 days or less. - 03/12/09 12:16 PM
photo courtesy of zoutedrop I was newly licensed and very eager to get started. Some agents had told me open houses were a great resource for someone like me - not many friends in town, no family, no real ties to the community. No sphere of influence in other words. I started seeking them out, but as luck would have it, someone in my office always beat me to the punch when an email would go out asking for an agent to hold an open house. I was a bit bummed, but still determined. I kept my eyes on

clients: Sometimes Jumping In With Both Feet Doesnt Hurt - 02/12/09 03:51 PM
It might be a bit odd, but I'm doing it anyway. I never thought I'd re-blog something about myself, but in this case, I thought I would. Not to toot my own horn or even to generate new business for Clint. Nope...not my intentions with this re-blog. After I wrote my comment on the original post, I thought about how important I feel testimonials are. Sure, I've been to plenty of sites with testimonials that didn't sell me on anything, but if we all took five seconds to back the people and products that are doing well for us, wouldn't

clients: You're Not Doing It Wrong...I'm Just Doing It Different! - 01/20/09 03:37 PM
I read Clint Miller's blog, but I also read and speak with Sarah on occasion. I've always liked Sarah, she's nice and always up to something that will get you smiling or laughing. She oozes positivity, even when she's had a hard day (and I've seen her have a few here and there). I mentioned in the comments section that I think this post should be handed out with every new Wordpress account an agent opens or with any new ActiveRain account. We all struggle with the idea of "is this the right thing for me?" Sarah sums it up
