Punk was not a mainstream movement. Disregarding the commercial system of the music industry, punk had to find it's own way to build both fans and a distribution network for their music. In order to sustain their own survival, punks had to build friendship and family amongst themselves, their fans, and the various related industries (record stores, promoters and venues, college radio, etc.).

Immediately after reading the title, I suspect everyone will think that I am talking about me, but I'm really just making a generalized statement here. Obviously, if you've been on ActiveRain for more than a minute in the past few weeks, there's been a lot of talk about the dreaded downtime that has made ActiveRain an aggravation at times. San Antonio is a big place, with lots of neighborhoods throughout the city (and plenty on the outskirts of the city that we call "San Antonio," but are technically not part of the city). Seems simple enough, right? ActiveRain is a community of real estate professionals that blog, talk, share, and refer. Ok, I'm done. There's my submission. But, it doesn't seem right. Seems like it's an incomplete answer. Seems to simple for something so complex. Might not really be a good representation of what it means.

Today's task (well, yesterday's as of this post) was to join a forum in our niche and get involved. The theory is that its a great way to connect and grow your sphere of influence as well as "be yourself" and attract others to your blog. I did the task, but I have some mixed thoughts on it.

Sometimes the ideas come at weird times.
I was out at a friend's house last night, eating homemade salsa and playing games (Battle of the Sexes isn't worth the paper its printed on, just my opinion). KB Home's recent announcement of plans to build smaller homes in community stirs up a lot of feelings.
KB Home decided to build some new floorplans in their community at Sundance Trails and Sundance Ridge recently and it has been causing a bit of a stir. The communities, located off Potranco outside the 1604, started with brick front homes and two or three car garages ranging from $125,000 and went up into the $200,000s. I had taken some extra photos last week while at KB Home's Woods Of Alon that I wanted to share with everyone. These aren't quite as exciting as the photos of the house, because most of what they show are the empty lots, but I actually find this a bit exciting. Its an empty canvas, waiting for a homeowner to build their dreams and their lives in the most exciting community in San Antonio. Anyone who knows me, knows I am a big fan of KB Home's Woods of Alon community at NW Military (just south of Wurzbach). I have been holding open houses there for the past month on on of their inventory home (2919 Zurich) and you can find me there just about every weekend from 12-3. Why do I love the community so much?
A different idea of a community.
