Today was a gorgeous day, but a storm was on its way. As it approached and I noticed the change, I went into the middle of my street to check it out. While the city of San Antonio is experiencing a decent flow of properties being bought and thereby decreasing our inventory, not every zip code performs the same. While overall knowledge of San Antonio markets is important, specific knowledge of varying areas allows you to truly narrow down your research and pinpoint markets that are outperforming others. Today Stage 1 water restrictions have been enacted by SAWS and city officials. Because of our drought, I think I knew this day would come, but I had hoped we would hang in there. As of today the reading at the J-17 monitoring well (near Ft. Sam Houston) for the Edwards Aquifer dipped below 660.0 feet above sea level (it dropped to 659.6 feet above sea level) and triggered the restrictions.

As you can see and you've probably heard from real estate agents in our area, it looks like we've been out housebuying recently. Over the last 30 days we've been seeing a slow decline in the numbers of listing on the market (current inventory). Two days ago, I captured this photo.
I was out getting my haircut (long overdue) and it had been cloudy all day. When I came out of the shop with my shiny new haircut, the clouds had turned dark and gave off that ominous, foreboding look as if it were about to erupt into a thunderstorm. It never did. The forecast wasn't calling for rain, just a build in of humidity from the Gulf of Mexico and a perfect match of jet stream conditions and a cold front from Canada to make the recipe for rain.
