The Miss Minnesota competition starts today and for Miss Coon Rapids the first phase will be the interview with the judges at 11:30 AM. Questions could be on anything, her life, her platform ( which for Allison is her life) current events - anything! It has been hard during this week for contestants to keep up with the latest news on the BP oil spill and all the events happening throughout the world moment by moment. Our daughter, Allison Lordbock, is the current Miss Coon Rapids and is competing in the Miss Minnesota pageant this weekend. Many activities have been planned for the contestants throughout this week leading up to the pageant along with the necessary rehearsals and photo shoots. Here are a few shots from the week. My daughter calls all the contestants in their red production number dresses THE RED SEA. They would be hard to miss with all the sparkly crowns and super high heels as well.

My daughter and Home Staging partner, Allison Lordbock, is Miss Coon Rapids 2010 and the former 2005 Miss Brainerd Lakes. Along with that title comes the privilege of participating in the Miss Minnesota pageant. It is June 17-19, which will be here soon. Most people are unaware of how hard these young women work on their platforms throughout the year. Allison is especially busy now making appearances, working in community events and preparing for the pageant with many opportunities to help lives change. The new ballpark for the Minnesota Twins will be called the Target Field. This is right across the street from the Target Center, home to the NBA's Minnesota Timberwolves. The retailer and the Twins will be collaborating on the design of Target Plaza which will connect the $517 Million 40,000 seat Target Field to downtown Minneapolis. This will include a pedestrian bridge and public gathering space. All this Target stuff will be just a few blocks away from the Target corporation's headquarters in downtown Minneapolis, Minnesota.

allison lordbock: Watch 3 Ships Come Sailing Into Duluth/MN - 07/26/08 11:16 AM
August 1-3, 2008 will be an exciting time in Duluth, Minnesota as three tall ships will be sailing into port. Visitors can take on-board tours of these fascinating replicas of historic vessels. The ships will be in port in the Duluth harbor as part of the Duluth Maritime Festival, celebrating the state's Sesquicentennial ( even harder to say than type).

How do you keep visitors & Realtors at open houses and showings from using your nicely folded, perfectly hung, and oh so clean and fluffy towels? I have read that some suggest tying them in ribbons or raffia and therefore signal that they are off limits. But does everyone know how to read raffia?

The field of eight contestants for the title of Miss Brainerd Lakes will soon be narrowed down to "the one". Competing for this year's title are: Antje Anderson, Caitlin Cross, Katie Ritter, Heather Erickson, Breanna Sinner, Jacqui Cavalier, Mary Petersen and Emily Wyman.
The pageant is on Saturday, June 28th, 2008 at the Tornstrom Auditorium in Brainerd, Minnesota. It starts at 7:00 P.M. and tickets will be sold for $10.00 at the door. Brainerd always puts on a fabulous pageant and this year will be no different.

Opening night for the Brainerd Blue Thunder team at the Mills Field will be against Battle Creek, Michigan. Pam Marrs, owner, in entering her 3rd season along with husband Skip, says that final preparations are always a bit hectic.
Some factors that the team will be dealing with this year are road construction, as Washington Street in Brainerd is under going work, expansion of the division, and the high gas prices.

As we are now in the Memorial holiday weekend and tonight is our first public performance of our annual "Freedom Celebration" a program honoring area servicemen and women and thanking God for our freedom and our country. As we honor them for their sacrifice, we also point them to Jesus as the one sacrifice who gives us freedom from payment for our sins.

First let me introduce myself. My name is Baylin and I am a long haired German Shepherd, who also happens to be an honorary police dog. I was adopted by Kathleen Lordbock (Re$ale Design) and given to her daughter for a birthday present. Boy was she surprised ! Kathleen took Allison to the Heartland Animal Rescue Team site in Brainerd, Minnesota to walk the dogs.
