Actor Richard Widmark,93, born in Sunrise, MN has died at his home in Roxbury. Connecticut after
a fall which fractured vertebrae last year lead to other complications. Widmark had a film career of more that 70
movies, starting in the 40's and continuing on into the 90's in True Colors. His characters ranged
from heroes to bad guys and he played them all equally well.
Probably he is remembered best as Tommy Udo, the New York City gangster from "Kiss of

A national tour featuring decorated veterans from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan didn't stop at Forest Lake Area High School as planned, after school leaders abruptly canceled the visit. According to the Veterans for Freedom website, the National Heroes Tour "is about supporting our troops, honoring their commitment and rallying the country to complete the missions in Iraq and Afghanistan." You prepare this the night before and all you have to do is put it in the oven.
Scrambled Egg Casserole
2 tablespoons butter
2 1/2 tablespoons flour
2 cups milk
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1 cup American cheese,shredded
1 cup cubed ham
1/4 cup green onion, chopped
3 tablespoons butter, melted
1 dozen eggs, beaten
1 cup sliced fresh mushrooms
1/4 cup butter, melted
2 1/4 cups soft bread crumbs
To make the cheese sauce, melt butter, blend in flour and cook for one minute. Gradually stir in milk; cook until thick. Add salt, pepper, and cheese; stir until cheese melts. Set aside. Saute ham, mushrooms and green onion in three tablespoons … (16 comments)

This inexpensive little Rubberwood stool would complement just about any style room, it could easily be spray painted black, espresso, or any color you like - I would try a metallic, as we are going into the Holiday season. I always like a little bling here and there.

This project is a total community organization in Crow Wing County. The purpose is to bring together juveniles, who have by their bad choices caused harm, the people they have harmed, and other community members. Juveniles are held accountable for their actions and efforts are made to help them turn their lives around. Victims are provided restoration and a means to promote healing.
Volunteers need to undergo a training program along with 4 on-going training sessions per year. They will work in pairs and be mentored, as well.

Nancy Solem-Reisinger at age 45, has recently enlisted in the Army Nurse Corps and volunteered to serve as a nurse in Iraq. She will be leaving behind her regular job as a nurse at the Chris Jensen Health and Rehabilitation Center in Duluth, her husband, three sons, and two granddaughters.
She describes herself as a "chubby grandmother" but passionately talks about why she volunteered. "Our young people are over there and need nurses" she said Friday after being commissioned as a second lieutenant. "I feel compelled, I feel called. It's a privilege to go over there and serve."
