Columbus Day Weekend is a great time to go to Block Island, Rhode Island! For those of you that have not heard of Block Island, it is a small, mostly still untouched, island off the coast of Rhode Island. You can get there by taking the Block Island Ferry, either High speed or the traditional ferry (takes about 55 minutes from Point Judith, Rhode Island)
The reason Columbus Day weekend is such a good time to go there is mostly because it does not get as crowded as in the middle of summer. There are a few shops still open, many have closed … (17 comments)
