thanksgiving: 5 Fun Turkey and Thanksgiving Facts - 11/24/20 06:38 PM
After sharing the things one is thankful for this Thanksgiving, here are some fun facts to share with one's small circle around the 2020 Thanksgiving table about the holiday.
1. Thank God for the First Nations People the Wampanoag-'People of the First Light'
The Wampanoag People have lived in southeastern New England for more than 12,000 years. Their name means "People of the First Light" and they continue to live in the areas of Cape Cod, Nantucket, Martha's Vineyard as well as inland. If not for meeting Squanto, a former slave who spoke English, the Pilgrims who landed in 1620 might not have made it … (4 comments)

thanksgiving: "Thanksgiving 2019 Week 4 Grateful for Pets" - 11/24/19 07:22 PM
Week 4 of Thanksgiving Gratitude finds me Grateful for Pets.
In Week 1, I shared my gratitude for Jesus Christ, Father God and the Holy Spirit. For Week 2, I shared thankfulness for my husband, children and family. On Week 3, it was thanksgiving for friends.
Over the years, we've been blessed to enjoy many different pets. From dear kitties (now late) George, John and Taffy to Italian greyhound Skylar (also late) to bunnies Christmas, Easter and Max (again late), pets brought joy to our family.
After beloved Taffy passed last year, a few months later we adopted two new flame point Siamese kittens … (8 comments)

thanksgiving: Thanksgiving 2019 Week 3 Grateful for Friends - 11/17/19 06:10 PM
For Thanksgiving 2019 Week 3 I'm Grateful for Friends. For Week 1, I'm grateful to Jesus Christ, Father God and the Holy Spirit. For Week 2, I am grateful for my husband, children and family.
We are blessed to enjoy friendships with people from many spheres in our lives-current and past jobs, college, football, dance and this year especially, church.
There are many folks we've known at the Home Church for decades but my own fears, shame and desire for privacy prevented me from truly connecting with them. This year, by working in different ministries and groups, we grew in friendship with many … (4 comments)

thanksgiving: Thanksgiving 2019 Week 2 Grateful for Husband, Family - 11/10/19 11:54 PM
Hallelujah! This Thanksgiving 2019, I am grateful for so many things. For Week 1, first and foremost, I'm grateful to Jesus Christ for saving me. Now for Week 2, I am grateful for my husband, children and family.
My husband Steve is a loving, generous and man with a weirdly strange sense of humor. He would do anything for me, or our children, and sometimes even for strangers.
We had a birthday party for him yesterday and we all got to celebrate Steve. He is an answered prayer in so many ways, and the love of my life.
Our children, Marlena and Mo are … (6 comments)

thanksgiving: Thanksgiving 2019 Week 1 Grateful for Jesus Christ - 11/03/19 05:09 PM
Hallelujah! This Thanksgiving 2019, I am first and foremost grateful to Jesus Christ.
As a Christian, a believer in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus, I accept the truth written in the Bible that Jesus saved me from eternal hell by paying my debt of death for sin. This is the free gift of life available to all who ask forgiveness for their sins and then accept Christ into their hearts.
I am humbled, honored and amazed to know I will someday be able to enter heaven and eternity with Jesus, God the Father and the Holy Spirit, as well my other … (5 comments)

thanksgiving: Start a Weekly Gratitude Post for November AR Contest - 11/03/19 03:37 PM

1. An awe-inspiring God
2 A loving husband
3 2 delightful adult children

thanksgiving: Feeling Thankful for Thanksgiving Rain in California! - 11/21/18 01:32 PM
by Silicon Valley REALTOR Michelle Carr Crowe
With the unrelenting fires in Northern and Southern California, I'm feeling thankful for Thanksgiving Rain in Silicon Valley, California! With joy I saw wet plants, gray cloudy (not smoggy) skies as I retrieved my a plastic-wrapped San Jose Mercury News paper this morning. A pleasant rain accompanied me up and back to Los Altos this afternoon. I'm preparing for a Thanksgiving feast in a cozy warm home with a light rain just outside.
Thank you Lord for bringing the rain. Please use it to help put out these fires and grant the firefighters some time off with … (2 comments)

Thankful for Taffeta Angel Kitty-ActiveRain Thankfulness Contest Day 6
by Silicon Valley REALTOR Michelle Carr Crowe
Many people love and enjoy their pets-dogs, cats, birds, fish and more. We've had many kitties over the years as former foster parents. Our most beloved kitty is Taffeta Angel, our nearly 20-year-old Flame Point Siamese. She is the last one standing from all of the kitties we've loved.
Our children Marlena and Mo adopted Taffy and her brother John (a personable orange and white kitty who'd ride on your shoulder) from a rescue organization when they were young.
Quieter than John, Taffy was the avid huntress-those laser pointers … (1 comments)

Thankful for God, Who Gives Millions of Reasons to be Thankful-Day Two
by Silicon Valley REALTOR Michelle Carr Crowe
For me, being thankful starts with God. I am thankful that God the Father created us, He gave His Son Jesus Christ to pay for our sins, and provided us with the Comforter, the Holy Spirit.
From God come all good things. Too often, we can fret and worry when praying with thanksgiving would make our needs known to the Lord-so He can begin actually answering those prayers.

Be Sure to Thank These Four Groups of People This Thanksgiving
by San Jose REALTOR Michele Carr Crowe
At Thanksgiving we in business often think to thank clients and colleagues. I recently read a great article from RIS Media on four groups of people each of us should also be sure to thank that inspired this post.
1. Thank Your Children, Spouse and Family Members. The turbulent nature of real estate can lead to changed schedules and even missing important dates. Let your spouse and children know how much you appreciate their patience and support.
2. Thank Your Cabinet of Advisors. These are the people you … (6 comments)

Our Desire To Please God Should Be Our Highest Motive
by San Jose REALTOR Michelle Carr Crowe
Often we want to look good to other people, especially on social media, such as Facebook, SnapChat and InstaGram.
But truly, our desire to do good and to please our heavenly Father should be our highest motive. Because God looks at the heart, not just the surface. He is not fooled by happy faces or sexy selfies. And of course, the heart can sometimes even deceive itself.
As we enter the Thanksgiving season, may we focus on truly doing good as our God would have us do.

Defining Gratitude and 2015 Goals-Giving Thanks Daily to Bless & Grow
by Cupertino REALTOR Michelle Carr Crowe
Thanksgiving is a wonderful holiday. I love that this ActiveRain contest ties in gratitude and goals as I conclude Thanksgiving, prepare for Christmas and plan for the 2015 New Year.
What does gratitude mean to me? To me, gratitude is being thankful. As the Bible says, we are to be thankful in all circumstances, not just the happy ones.
I remember when my husband and I were pregnant with my first-ever planned pregnancy. We were married, owned our own home and fairly stable financially. I was … (2 comments)

Happy early Thanksgiving! To help start off our national American holiday of Thanksgiving, share three things you're thankful for here in the comments below.
I am thankful for
1) living in the free country of America, particularly Silicon Valley with its gorgeous weather, creative, entrepreneurial atmosphere and wonderful friends, clients, colleagues and neighbors from all parts of the globe.
2) enjoying overall good health and having a healthcare program with email reminders so I remember those appointments, tests and healthy living classes.
