With an incredibly high percentage of engineers and scientic minds dominating the community with all their practical innovation, how could one possibly fit in Folkloric Egyptian Oriental dance? The Corvallis School District has been awarded a $25,000 CLASS Project Design Grant from the Oregon Chalkboard Project to support teachers and expand professional development as they strive to become more effective educators.
Corvallis was one of five Oregon districts selected for the CLASS grant from a pool of 10 applicants. The other four award winners – Bethel, Dallas, David Douglas and Mt. The local news source, the Gazette Times, has a section dedicated to "Police Log," a place which notes what disturbances or threats have occured recently in the community. It makes for interesting reading and is one of the more popular sections according to the GT website.
In looking over the last couple of weeks' reports, you can't help but notice that most of the calls are of a medical nature.
