Roger Williams Park and Botanical “Green Event”
This is a must see to take the family and enjoy all the great "green" features it has to offer, there are some very unique plants, waterfalls, and ponds throughout the center. The Botanical Center is open from April until December and is very affordable and only $3 for an adult. Although our “Challenge the Wind” school program is the most popular use of “Big Max” during this time of year, there are many other events in local communities where the RE/MAX hot and cold air balloons can be put to very effective use. Housing Prices and Sales Increase in First Quarter
According to statistics released today by the Rhode Island Association of REALTORS®, the state's housing market showed strong signs of rebounding in the first quarter. Sales of single family homes were up 8.5 percent from first quarter of 2009 and median price rose 7.2 percent, from $180,000 last year to $193,000 this year. The number of distressed sales decreased to 36 percent of all sales, down from 48 percent the year prior. The price of single family properties not selling through short sale or foreclosure was $225,000.

Wickford Village - where to begin? Wickford represents what a real village should be – small but not confined, accessible and not limiting, quaint but not, well, out of range of conveniences that we’re accustomed to. (But this can also apply to Rhode Island given its size and multi-faceted population, proximity to the ocean and populous hot-spots such as Providence and then NYC - The Big Apple, and Bean town - Boston.)

WARWICK, R.I. - U.S. Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano took a helicopter tour over still-flooded Rhode Island on Friday, witnessing waterlogged shopping malls and homes with people's possessions laid out to dry in their yards, as residents and officials in the already economically troubled state pleaded for her to secure more federal aid.
Napolitano called the flooding “significant" and pledged the federal government's help in the months to come. State officials, including U.S. Reps. Jim Langevin and Patrick Kennedy, pressed for more than what's already been promised.

Buttonwoods/Old Buttonwoods Neighborhood
Located in the West Bay area of Warwick is a neighborhood known as Old Buttonwoods. Buttonwoods is the name of a type of tree found mainly on shorelines and is a clue to the mystery of the place. Originally founded as a summer colony in 1871 by a Rev. Moses Bixby as a retreat spot for his congregation, the locale has a picturesque view of Greenwich Bay. The makeup of the area is multi-denominational these days but the community feel is still friendly and easy-going.

Potowomet on the Bay
You may never hear the name Potowomet in a game of Jeopardy. Nevertheless, it is the birthplace of the American Revolution’s premier General, Nathaniel Green, in 1742. And oddly enough, you will can only find this enclave of Warwick by leaving the City altogether.
This geographically isolated section of Warwick is accessible via East Greenwich and/or the town of North Kingstown. Warwick Neck
The website for Warwick Neck says ‘Where It’s All About The Quality Of Life.’ And that pretty much sums up the world of Warwick Neck. Central to the area is it’s Lighthouse, down at the bottom of the Neck, which has safeguarded seafarers since 1826. Currently the Coast Guard maintains this green flashing beacon which earns the distinction of being the last traditional lighthouse built in Rhode Island.
