I promised to name who's who for Maureen on my last Blog Tour USA post...even though I don't know everyone. Sorry guys...if you know or are the people I've missed meeting, please speak up and we'll add you to the list of who's who in this photo.

CMPS Group on Active Rain

It's come to my attention that we have several members that have joined the CMPS Active Rain Group, who do not have their CMPS Designation.

This is my fault. Perhaps I was unclear when setting this group up that it is for professionals who have earned their CMPS Designations. There are many mortgage planning groups all ready available to participate in Active Rain. This group is for CMPS Members only. I know there are many solid "Mortgage Planners" out there, however actually going through the steps to become CMPS and passing the exam is different than how you practice your business and what you put on your business card.

Any thoughts?

Brian Brady would like you weigh in on your CMPS Designation

Brian Brady recently did a new post on Bloodhound Blog. He's considering obtaining his CMPS designation. It's a very interesting post and he's asking fellow CMPS members to weigh in with your opinions on if it has been beneficial to us.

The comment section is a must read too. Morgan from Blown Mortgage discusses potential legal liabilities with CMPS and concerns over Doug Andrews' Missed Fortune concepts.

It's worth a visit to help out a fellow Rainer with this decision.

Hello, I'm Rhonda from Seattle

A new member to the CMPS group (I guess we're all new, it is a new group) asked me where I'm from today. I live in Seattle and provide residential mortgages in Washington State. My office, Mortgage Master Service Corporation is located in south King County. I earned my CMPS at the Phoenix live event in October 2006. I met so many terrific people there...it made me proud to be a lender.

Since earning my CMPS designation, I have joined the local FPA Chapter...I have not attended a meeting yet, which I plan to do soon. I have not noticed many (if any) CMPS members on the local roster, so this could be a great avenue to network with financial planners.

I thought I would also share a laundry list of other tools and resources in addition to CMPS that I've used in my business practice and that I can't imagine not having.

Loan Tool Box. I'm a "Platinum Plus" Member. I finally uploaded my database so the monthly newsletter, You Magazine, will be sent automatically. I snail mail the LTB Homes & Money Newsletter on a quarterly basis. They have a great message board, too.

MMG and MMG Weekly. The Weekly reports I only send out to real estate agents and financial planners. I have MMG Monthly as well, I haven't been completely satisfied with the content which is why I subscribed to LTB's You Magazine.

Mortgage Coach. I include a Total Cost Analysis with every GFE I prepare...just to start with. Rate Watch, Rent vs. Own...I could go on and on.

I currently have a Treo650 and I'm counting the days to trade it in just a few months away. It freezes simply by looking at it.

I would love any suggestions regarding what new smart phone I should invest in and what systems or programs have you found beneficial in your practice.

Welcome Fellow CMPS

Remember how great it felt when we passed our CMPS exams? I experienced this in Scottsdale last year and formed several great relationships with very professional mortgage planners who have earned their CMPS. This group is simply an extension of that.

We can share what has been successful as CMPS (not plagiarize). This can even be a forum for possible referrals. Perhaps a Mastermind Group?

Bottom line, this is a blank canvas--let's put some CMPS minds together and see where this takes us!

R TEAM is back!

It's BAAAACCCCKKKK! This was a huge "a-ha" moment for me. I know we no longer physically meet for the "R TEAM" networkings over breakfast...with what I've learned from a few months of blogging...we can accomplish everything we did before on our time frame without even leaving the comforts of your office or home. Not that we don't enjoy seeing each other monthly.

"R TEAM" is a network group that I founded in 1992 for real estate agents from area King County offices to promote their listings, buyers' needs and to discuss timely topics of importance to our group. Blogging can be the same thing. Active Rain provides the perfect format for this.

I'm very interested in getting "R TEAM" back together and "on-line". If blogging is new to an R TEAM member, I'm here to help-so don't sweat it.

With our R TEAM group, any member can post a topic to be addressed by our esteemed group, you can post a buyers special need or situation (of course, we'll leave their names out) and you can also post information about listings that can be very creative.

As you can tell, I'm very excited about this and look forward to your participation!
