My company, Glastonbury Home Staging was hired to stage an owner occupied home for a family located in South Windsor, CT , that was relocating. I met with them in early January and discussed my recommendations. They had watched all the shows on HGTV and knew they needed help and were prepared and open to working to get their house ready for sale.

My company, Glastonbury Home Staging, was recently hired to stage this 5 bedroom colonial, located in West Hartford, CT. This house was deceiving from the outside it so big and the bedrooms are all good sizes, particularly the master bedroom. Many families today are multi-generational, with grandparents moving in with their adult children and their grandchildrens or adult children moving back in with mom and dad. This house could be the right solution many family's housing needs.

The HGTV's Designed to Sell experts' list this as a top tip for getting a house sold. I couldn't agree more. Nothing is more disappointing than pulling up to a beautiful home, getting so excited to see the inside and walking through the door and feeling a hugh let down. Hello fellow stagers. I just recently had the opportunity to bid on staging a vacant bank owned property. I prepared my proposal to include two levels of staging each with a fee range. I also prepared a quote to lease furniture. I stated that my fees are payable in full upfront.
I just spoke with the agent and she liked my proposal but said that the bank will not work that way. As a property manager for the bank, she must submit all the bills, which then goes to a committee or two and then they send out payments. This process … (5 comments)

This past year I have been involved with a local nonprofit organization called Glastonbury, A Better Chance. This organization operates under the umbrella of the national A Better Chance program. My husband has been a board member for the last couple of years, so I have been learning about the program through him. I was interested in finding a way that I, too, could contribute.

Here are a few more decorating don'ts from HGTV - They had a few more but I think these directly apply to Staging as well.Everything MatchesA room that looks like it's a page from a catalog is a mistake because people don't really live that way. It's designed to sell furniture and give you an idea of what you might have in your house, but you shouldn't be matching the look that closely. I recently staged a vacant house, Woodbridge CT for a couple that live out of state. Another customer that found me online thanks to Active Rain!!!
This property had been leased and the tenants had just moved out the owners only want the bare minimum, just a few accessories added. A follow-up on a post from early August on house in Wethersfield, CT that my company, Glastonbury Home Staging, staged. It went under contract in 3 weeks! And they had a back-up buyer as well!
Of course the homeowners couldn't be happier, and I am thrilled. This was such a nice family, I really enjoyed getting to know them and plan to keep in touch with them. This beautiful colonial reproduction home was recently staged to sell by my company Glastonbury Home Staging. It is listed by Jon Reynolds, ReMax, Glastonbury, CT
Building this home was truly a labor of love by the homeowners. It sits in the historical Griswoldville section of Wethersfield, Ct as if it had been there all along. I posted a few weeks back about a large house in South Windsor, CT, my company, Glastonbury Home Staging, staged that was so big and ornate, that I thought it looked like a hotel ballroom. I had planned to show the before and after photos; but.....the before's were on our second laptop and the harddrive crashed! I am so frustrated with myself for not making a backup set of those photos!

I had written a blog a couple of weeks back about a house that was way too country and really turned buyers off. Well my company, Glastonbury Home Staging, basically turned the house upside down and changed around bonus room, family room, and living rooms. So I put together a video show that shows what we did to upgrade a lower level play room into a nicer family room. My company Glastonbury Home Staging was hired last week to stage this beautiful colonial reproduction, located in Wethersfield, CT. It is a beautiful home and was very nicely maintained and just needed some up editing and up to date accessories. I would have like to have gone a little further and removed some wallpaper and replaced a couple of pieces of furniture but we did what the homeowners were comfortable doing. An agent whom I have teamed up successfully in the past called me recently to come and see a house she had just listed during an open house. She said this house was a beautiful four-bedroom farmhouse styled house. The property was nicely landscaped and it had a beautiful pool area. It was located in a highly desirable neighborhood. I was contacted by a woman from Colorado this spring. She found me on the internet, she wasn't sure but I think it may have been from Active Rain. Her dad had lived here in Connecticut and had passed away last September. She had come out her and emptied his condo and listed it with a local agent. I recently blogged about a large home that my company, Glastonbury Home Staging was hired to stage and I mentioned a wicker set I used the sunroom, but forgot to include photos. This is the set I picked up from Pier 1 Imports. It was a great buy but the color was the pitts! It was a drab grey color just awful.
