home staging rockland county ny: Does your local home stager generate leads and make you $$$... - 04/28/08 11:07 AM
Does your local home stager work for you?

Referral business:
Stagers often work with homeowners before they put their home on the market. Most often when clients hire Rockland Home Staging for a consult it is the first step in the real estate process. They often ask for advice when choosing an agent. I work with several real estate agents in Rockland County on regular basis and would recommend them without reservation. The homeowners are glad to get an agent that comes highly recommended by someone in the real estate industry.

home staging rockland county ny: Keeping current with color trends. What's hot. - 08/20/07 11:26 AM
Could we be saying goodbye to the Brown / Teal color pallet? I really do love this color combo but it may very well be on its way out. I just received the latest Pottery Barn and Touch of Catalogs in the mail today. I think the cover photos will speak for themselves:
I think that once a particular color combination hits the major chain and discount stores it is on its way out.
To the left you will see how the beautiful Teal / Brown combo has been murdered.
I'd like you all to pause for a moment of silence and remember … (35 comments)

home staging rockland county ny: Who should pay for home staging? - 08/17/07 04:17 PM
/>
Logic: Without logic, reason is useless. With logic you can win arguments and alienate multitudes, or maybe not.
That brings us to the question Who should pay for home staging?
The homeowner should pay.
It is their home therefore, their responsibility. They made the mess, they should clean it up. The homeowner stands to make the most profit from the staging. When the homeowner pays they are invested in the process and will follow through.Realtors are not expected to pay for landscapers, painters or other contractors. Just because a Realtor refers a stager does not mean they must pay.
The realtor … (39 comments)

home staging rockland county ny: Board of Realtors Affiliate Memberships - 08/09/07 08:38 PM
I have been a member of the Rockland County Board of Realtors for some time now.  It is a great way to become involved in your local real estate network.  Each month they mail out a newsletter that lists the board of directors and the affiliate members and articles relating to local issues.  When I joined the RCBOR was nice enough to create a affiliate designation for Home Stagers.  So far I am the only proud member, but as the industry grows I'm sure more stagers will join.
Recently I was invited to contribute an article to the RCBOR newsletter.  Each … (38 comments)

home staging rockland county ny: Meat and potatoes home staging. - 06/26/07 08:38 PM
I think some times homeowners and realtors do not want to use home stagers because their homes / listings will never look like the ones in the glossy home staging brochures.
Not every home is a $1.7 town home with and elevator and spa like bathroom. In fact most of my business comes from your average home in the burbs that requires some tweaking. A lot of the time we are working with an extremely limited budget and the goal is not perfection - it is cozy, or quaint, or realistically just a lot better than it was before.  Given an … (36 comments)

home staging rockland county ny: Are you hiring a REAL home staging company? - 06/23/07 08:48 AM
It seems there are home staging companies popping up all over the place and it can be confusing to sort through all the new start up companies.  When choosing a home staging professional to stage your home or to refer if you are a realtor there are several factors that you need to take into consideration.
Small businesses need to be registered with the state, most Home Staging Companies are registered as an LLC, Limited Liability Corporation or they may have a Corporation or Sole Proprietorship.Home Stagers, like all business owners need to have insurance.  In my area Realtors will not refer … (10 comments)

home staging rockland county ny: Curb Appeal - Can it make your home 45% more likely to be seen? - 05/30/07 01:20 PM
We are currently in the throws of the hot spring real estate market and it is essential that your home or listing stand out. The National Association of Realtors (NAR) reported that there are more homes on the market now than there have been in the last 10 years.
Real estate agents are often showing home buyers more than a dozen homes before they place an offer on a home. Buyers are savvy and looking for homes that show beautifully. The days when you could sell any home in the first few days are over. The National Association of Realtors … (29 comments)

home staging rockland county ny: Home Staging Statistics - 05/09/07 06:20 PM
I have been looking for some time for a credible home staging statistic to put on my website, Rockland Home Staging.com. Recently I found a statistic with a credible source.  I was reading about STAGING FEATURED IN "PARADE" SECTION OF MOST MAJOR PAPERS! The article listed that staged homes sell for 6% more. The direct quote is: A Coldwell Banker Real Estate Corp. survey found that staged homes spent half the time on the market and sold for more than 6% above the asking price. At first I thought this was going to be like most of the other home stating … (43 comments)
