realtor: No cost Home Staging - 06/17/09 02:59 PM
Sometimes home staging is just a matter of rearranging the furniture to make the space appear larger and more aesthetically pleasing. Rockland Home Staging recently did a consultation with the owner of a one bedroom condo. The unit was overpowered by the large entertainment center and bulky furniture. We had a budget of $0 for this project. I was called in to to a consultation and the homeowners did all the heavy lifting! Here are the results. The photos on the left are the actual MLS photos, mine are on the right. I think choosing a good angle and having a

realtor: Rockland Home Staging in the News - 04/03/08 07:39 PM
Recently I was interviewed for an article in Hudson Valley Magazine. The article is entitled What’s Your House Worth Now? By Karen Maserjian Shan The article focuses on housing trends in the Hudson Valley and how to complete a successful real estate transaction. I was honored to be quoted in the article and hopefully this will bring some much needed awareness to staging in Rockland County and the surrounding areas in the Hudson Valley. Here is an excerpt from the article: Set the Stage for Success Putting your home on the market? Before you do, you may want to consider hiring

realtor: Mirror Mirror on the Wall . . . You've just got to GO !!! - 03/29/08 03:25 PM
When putting our Rockland County NY home on the market for sale it is important to get rid of anything that is going to date the home, even though these design choices were all the rage at one time. Sometimes the things that were so expensive to install at the time are the exact things that date a home and mirrored walls are definitely out, especially smoked mirror. It was once thought that mirrors on a wall made the room look larger. After having spent the last few years removing mirrors from homes it seems to me that the rooms actually

realtor: They call me the heavy - all must obey. - 07/06/07 07:39 AM
There is one particular real estate office in Rockland County NY that I work with frequently. The have affectionately labeled me "THE HEAVY". They call me when there is a particular issue with a home that they feel uncomfortable talking about. Or they don't think the owners will be receptive to their suggestions for whatever reason. Real estate is not all, new jobs, new babies and marriages. There is a much darker side to the industry that they don't mention in the glossy brochures with smiling homeowners shaking hands with their Realtors. The relationship between Realtor and Homeowner can be filled

realtor: How I used chocolate to market my Home Staging business. - 03/14/07 02:30 PM
Well it has been about one month since I set out on my chocolate house marketing adventure so I thought I would tell you how it went. Allthgether I visited 15 real estate offices in Rockland County in one week period. The response was overwhelmingly positive. I met the nicest people in my travels. Realtors and office managers loved the chocolates and invited me in to meet the Realtors and discuss homes staging. I went to each office in Rockland from Piermont to Pomona and everywhere in between. I had a specific purpose in mind for each visit. To meet the office manager if possible

I think it is one of the best ways to market yourself using email. You can upload your photos, logos and any other information you want to use on your stationery. Every time I send an email I am marketing my company - getting my - website - logo and tag-line seen. I'm sure a lot of Realtors already use this service or a similar one. It works with every email

realtor: Myth # 5 BUSTED - Homeowners can stage a home themselves. WARNING: CONTAINS GRAPHIC IMAGES - 11/16/06 07:17 AM
Myth # 5 BUSTED - Homeowners can not stage a home themselves. I might also have entitled this: Stager heal thyself. WARING: THE PHOTOS AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS BLOG MAY CONTAIN IMAGES THAT WILL BE OFFENSIVE TO THOSE WITH STYLE AND GOOD TASTE. It is difficult, if not impossible, for homeowners to view their home objectively. It is easy for people to overlook, downplay, or blatantly ignore flaws in their own home. When we moved into our new homes we have grand visions of repainting, repairing holes, fixing cracks and updating the light fixtures but as time goes on and we
