Kudos Abound for Oklahoma City - 11/16/10 04:18 PM
At the ShowMeOKC Team, we love to share the positive points of living in Oklahoma, economic news included, but lately it's become difficult to keep up... I must have 30 webpages bookmarked right now! How about I just wrap a few of them together here, to make it easier for you to brag to your out-of-state friends: The Wall Street Journal recently ranked Oklahoma City #2 Best, only behind Tulsa's #1 spot, in their "10 Best and Worst Markets for Real Estate Investors" article:
"High-ranking areas for investor suitability are places where there’s a positive three-year home price forecast, employment is … (2 comments)

Eischen’s Chicken: The Way It Always Was - 11/15/10 12:42 PM
I'm not sure I need to add much commentary on this one. Generally speaking, if you just say the word "Eishens" to someone, they immediately start babbling about amazing chicken and telling stories of their first time there, their first date there (my wife & I fit this one), or some other memory they've made at the oldest bar in Oklahoma.Eishen's is located in Okarche, OK and has a long-standing history, including the time it burned down. Not too long ago, Eishen's was featured on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives, so hit the play button below, then get yourself to Okarche for … (0 comments)

When Rudolph Ruins the Sale - 11/11/10 01:23 PM
For many homeowners, one of the greatest joys of the year is decorating for the Holidays. Great pride is taken in having the biggest tree, the music-coordinated lights, the animated Christmas characters in the yard. Even having a professionally staged home in the weeks leading up to the Holidays won’t help you if would-be buyers have to wade through a replica of Santa’s Workshop just to get through your front door.  So can all that “Ho Ho Ho” make potential buyers think “No No No?” Here’s how to avoid letting Rudolph ruin your sale:
Keep it traditional. If your home is on … (1 comments)

The truth is, there's not a one-size-fits-all answer to this question, because several factors go into determining if it's right for you, such as age & location of your home, comp sales in your area, how much you owe on your home, etc.
Many times upgraded countertops can be beneficial because, as you've probably heard, kitchens and bathrooms sell homes, and beautiful countertops are one of the most important elements to "a WOW kitchen."
We're always happy to do an overall … (4 comments)

Don't Know Where to Vote? Just Send a Text Message! - 11/02/10 11:36 AM
Yep, it's that simple.Pretty cool really, especially for the techie geeks like me. I did it and it worked perfectly (see the screenshot below).
Just text “where” to 30644. (You can also text “donde” to get your answer in Spanish.) The system, which is free, will reply, asking for your home address. Give it to them, and it’ll send back your polling location.

If you want more specifics, just check out this post by FastCompany.
