active rain: Give And Take... An Active Rain Summary - 08/01/07 11:33 AM
Over the past month, I've had several new members accept my invitation to join us here at Active Rain. I'm still amazed at how many, no matter how much I tell them about the benefits, don't join. If I had to guess, I've probably invited close to 200 people to join us here in the Rain and of that 200, 32 have accepted. Of those 32, only 8 have actually posted a blog and/or commented on other blogs and 2 haven't even done the basic creation of their profile. So, in other words, only about 4% of the 200 people I've … (6 comments)

active rain: Are consumers finding us and are they reading? - 04/24/07 03:42 AM

I think my mind … (35 comments)

So, I know that there are about 2,386 other posts here singing the praises of Active Rain and Localism but I'm going to go ahead and post number 2,387 anyway.
I began blogging here on AR some time back in January, all the while reading other Rainers' posts about the exposure they were gaining from it, how it's helping their SEO (at the time I'm thinking "what in the world is SEO?) and the business it was producing for them. Of course I'm thinking "yeah, we'll see" but not expecting to get much business from it. My thinking was that if I'm here … (8 comments)

OK, now it's day 4 of my posts showing what's available in Edmond, Oklahoma for different price points. The past 3 days have shown us what $100,000, $200,000, and $300,000 will buy in Edmond. Today, I find myself with only six homes in the price range; all beautiful homes with fantastic features. They range in year built from 1991 to 2007 new construction. The average size is 3440 square feet and the average sold price per square foot is $118.59. The average Days on Market is 109, and these homes sold an average of 98.57% of their list price. I'm surprised we haven't had more participation from other markets around the country, in showing what's available for different price points. As this little series continues, I find it more challenging each day to choose the perfect home. Tuesday's $100,000 home was pretty easy, and yesterday's 200,000 home was more challenging. Today, I find myself with nine solid candidates; all beautiful homes with fantastic features. They range in year of construction from 1984 to 2007 new construction. The average size is 3,034 square feet and the average sold price per square foot is $102.12. The average Days on Market is 100, … (2 comments)

Yesterday's blog on What You Get For The Money - AR style was easy for me. I only had a few homes to choose from that have sold this year around $100,000. Big Thanks to Sarah Cooper, who had a nice contribution with What You Get for the Money in Hurricane, WV: $100,000 (Plus a Challenge!)
Today's $200,000 range presents some new challenges for me. I have 22 properties to choose from, ranging from new construction to a home built in 1978, with an average sale price of $200,221 for 2193 square feet or $93.67 per square foot. In fact, … (4 comments)

After reading Anthony Clark'sblog post Why is it such a surprise? Yesterday, an idea popped into my head that I thought would be fun, while encouraging involvement from all of our markets around the nation. If you're new to Active Rain or you've been around a while and just haven't been sure what topic to post about, here's your chance. If you're not new, you know what to do!
Most of us have probably seen "What You Get For The Money" on HGTV. For those who haven't, it's a weekly show in which they summarize properties in different markets around the country in similar … (6 comments)
