"When the Market gets Tough, the Tough go Crabbin!" - Life in Kitsap County WA - 11/29/07 01:06 AM
Okay, so after a really enjoyable Listing Appointment earlier in the morning, my oldest son, Ben, and his buddy, Josh, finally talked me into taking the boat out today for some late season Crabbing.
We only live about 10 minutes from the public boat launch at Miami Beach on Hood Canal WA, and one of the prime Crabbing spots in the Puget Sound.
Call me a 'Wimp' or a 'Wussie' or whatever non-hacker term you wish, but I'm the first one to admit that I'm a 'Fair Weather' Crabber.
Now don't get me wrong, I LOVE the playful pursuit of pulling up these 'snap-happy' bottom-dwelling crustaceans. There … (24 comments)

"Forgive me, Father,...It's been 3 weeks since my last Blog Post!" - Blog Tips for Rain Drips - 11/27/07 04:57 PM
For my friends of the Catholic persuasion, please know that I mean no disrespect...
They say that one of the primary tenets of effective blogging is consistency (Although I'm not quite sure who "They" is) These days, it seems as though anyone who has been blogging for more than a year is considered an expert. However, there is a very definite sense of validity to this particular point.
It's rather obvious that in order to keep the Search Engine Spiders happy, one needs to regularly feed them good relevant content.
The big question is "How often should you throw the Spiders a blog bone?" Well, it really … (36 comments)

"Is Your Blog a Brick Wall?" Responding to your Readers - Blog Tips for Rain Drips - 11/09/07 03:13 AM
Okay, so I'm rehashing another one of my pet peeves here in the Rain.
So you're sitting there late at night, or perhaps it's early in the morning. Either way, it's your valuable time, time you could be doing something else. Like 'sleeping!' But you've chosen to be here - at your computer, logged onto your favorite on-line addiction "ActiveCoCain."
And like any dedicated 'Rainer,' you're sitting there busily engaged in making your daily comments. You know, that aspect of conversational blogging where you, 'The Reader,' can actually contribute to the dialogue initiated by the post author. It's also one of those glorious opportunities the Rain … (167 comments)

"Congrats, TR & Arwen!" - 1st Time Home Buyers on the Kitsap Peninsula WA - 11/05/07 06:20 PM
There was great cause for celebration here last week on the Kitsap County Peninsula in scenic Washington State!
1st Time Home Buyers, TR & Arwen, closed on their home in Port Orchard!
This was one of the most fun and rewarding transactions I've had the privilege of being involved in for quite some time!
TR & Arwen came over from Hawaii, under orders courtesy of the U.S. Navy. TR just recently made Chief Petty Officer, so it's been a very eventful month for both of them!
To read more about the home-buying adventures of TR & Arwen, go to SOUNDBITEBLOG.

"When the Going gets Tough, Sellers get Going!" - Today's Sellers in Kitsap County WA - 11/01/07 12:40 PM
These are very challenging times for Home Sellers, not only here on the Kitsap Peninsula in scenic Washington State, but in housing markets throughout the country. Inventory levels of available homes are at an all-time high. Many homes have been languishing on the market for what seems like an eternity, with little or no activity. Mortgage loan underwriters have tightened their requirements, making it much more difficult for hopeful buyers to qualify. And with all the global uncertainties, from the war in Iraq, to the price of crude oil, consumer confidence is faltering, keeping many potential buyers sitting on the fence.
Tough times demand that tough questions be asked, and tough actions be taken. … (3 comments)

"Central Kitsap Junior High Football" - Life on the Kitsap Peninsula WA - 11/01/07 01:50 AM
Well, today was the final game of the 2007 season for the Central Kitsap Junior High Cubs JV Football Team here in Silverdale WA. Our boys played Cedar Heights Junior High from Port Orchard. Both teams were tied for first place in the league going into today's game.
It was a classic nail-biting battle of fairly evenly matched teams. The high scoring game saw the lead change hands serveral times throughout the game. With only :40 seconds to go in the 4th quarter, the Cubs were down by 1 point. Two costly penalties brought our ball back to mid-field, leaving us with a … (7 comments)
