I have the good fortune of representing some truly amazing Sellers for a property here in Central Kitsap WA. Is ActiveRain a Good Place to Publish Your Listings?
I think there's a tendency by many people, especially new members, to act on the assumption that ActiveRain is primarily a Listing Aggregator site, similar to Zillow or Trulia. This is evidenced by the number of folks whose blog archive is nothing but a never-ending litany of properties.
Is ActiveRain a good place to promote your listings? With so many listing aggregator sites flooding the Internet for consumers to access, don't most Buyers use those sites for their home searches? If so, then what's the value of posting your listings on ActiveRain?

One of the great social media tools out there is flavors.me, where you can customize your own unique virtual business card landing page that allows you to share stuff (website and blog links) about you and all of your social media engagements.

When you click on each of your social network accounts, it imports each stream, updates, or comments from each platform, and displays them on your page.

It's a great way to give prospective clients a quick snapshot of who you are and allows them to explore your other online involvements.

Low Offers, Short Sales, and Other Market Realities - Kitsap County WA - 06/14/11 06:04 PM
Given the current real estate market dynamics in Kitsap County WA, and the prevalent number of short sale and foreclosure properties being listed (about 30% of all properties), it's rather challenging for traditional Sellers who aren't upside down on their mortgage or facing imminent foreclosure to effectively sell their homes.
As a result, many Buyers (and some agents/brokers) assume that every Seller is equally desperate and willing to make huge pricing concessions in order to attract a viable Buyer.
Such was the case recently with one of my listed properties.

Back in January of 2008, I began a series of articles here on ActiveRain that served to expand and explain the ActiveRain Community Guidelines. It's one of those things, along with the ActiveRain Terms of Service, that is required reading for new members which they agree to adhere to when signing up for their account. Unfortunately, all to many times, people are rather anxious and eager to get started (can't say that I blame them!), and they tend to skip/skim over these required resources.
