One of my favorite movies is 'Shawshank Redemption' - the story of Andy Dufresne, a young banking executive who spends nearly two decades doing hard-time in Shawshank State Prison for the murder of his wife and her lover despite his claims of innocence. Andy overcomes tremendous adversity, and through dogged determination and extreme patience, over a span of almost 20 years, is able to tunnel through solid walls, crawl through 500 feet of underground raw sewage pipe, and make good his escape.

perseverance: First Rule of Real Estate: Things will go wrong - 09/26/06 12:55 AM
Today was a reminder for me that you can strive to do everything right, to the best of your ability, and still have things go wrong. 
I listed a home for a Navy family under orders to San Diego. He just made Chief and she is anxious to go down and join him there soon.
The wife has worked very hard to get the house ready for market, even while caring for two very active toddlers. She is the kind that worries about every little detail and asks endless questions. I always listen attentively and field each and every inquiry completely.
