quality content: 'Broken Records = Boring Content' - ActiveRain Community Guidelines - 06/11/11 01:12 AM
Back in January of 2008, I began a series of articles here on ActiveRain that served to expand and explain the ActiveRain Community Guidelines. It's one of those things, along with the ActiveRain Terms of Service, that is required reading for new members which they agree to adhere to when signing up for their account. Unfortunately, all to many times, people are rather anxious and eager to get started (can't say that I blame them!), and they tend to skip/skim over these required resources. Now granted, I'll agree that the Terms of Service is a tad bit dry and doesn't make for very exciting (42 comments)

Okay, so here goes my broken record impression again.... For those of you who've heard this tune before, and actually GET IT, you have my permission to move on to the next post. I've covered this ground numerous times before. Here's a quick trip down memory lane: "Is Your Blog a Toxic Waste Dump?" "How to Sabotage Your Own Blog!" "Counterfeit Blogging" "Original Content" - Using Your Own Voice in the Rain " Kopy Killers" - Plagiarizers on the Platform In our on-going efforts towards improving overall posting quality, one of the reoccurring problems we encounter here in the Rain are members posting 'Cut & Paste' content (34 comments)
quality content: "What You Talkin' Bout, Willis?" - Blog Tips for Rain Drips - 12/07/07 12:36 PM
This is the 2nd part in a Series on the "Art of Engagement" which began by asking the fundamental question,.... "Why do we blog?".... Equally as important to that question is "Who are we writing too?" and "What should we say?" It constantly amazes me what some people try to pass off as blogging. As is typical with the newest marketing fads or trends, many folks jump into the blogging fray with both feet and little knowledge/preparation. (If you're new to blogging, might I suggest that you simply 'Lurk' for a while, and casually observe. Take notes. Read articles by the Top Point Leaders in your respective State. quality content: My Dog ate My Blog! - 08/14/07 03:10 AM
I know I was way past overdue. I mean, seriously, how can anyone expect to attract consistent traffic and readership to their blog if they're not consistently posting good, quality content articles on their blog? Afterall, it's not 'Rocket Science!' (which is really fortunate for me cuz' I totally sucked at science in school!) (Note: Neither of these dogs are mine. Real men don't 'dress' their pets) I scrambled mentally for a list of reasonable excuses to justify my belated posting: "I've been REALLY busy with my real estate business lately" - Okay, this seems like a legitimate reason. But it's not like I'm completely swamped or overwhelmed. I could make the (68 comments)
quality content: Carnival of Content: Winners of Round Two - 07/30/07 10:56 AM
This weeks "Carnival of Content" for Loan Officers and Mortgage Lenders was perhaps one of the most difficult and challenging competitions to judge. Seriously, everyone who submitted an entry for this round deserves to be a winner in their own right. As anticipated, the contestants from among our Mortgage members really raised the bar on quality blog writing, making the job of determining this weeks winners extremely difficult for our panel of distinguished judges. But before we announce the 2nd Round Winners, let's briefly recap the rationale behind the Carnival of Content contests: Mission Statement: The ActiveRain "Carnival of Content" is a twice monthly contest to challenge, encourage and (35 comments)
