Aliomanu Ocean View Homes on Kauai's East Side Kauai's East Side features a number of luxury communities, many with stunning ocean and mountain views.  Such is the Aliomanu area just north of the village of Anahola.  Having attended an open house and seeing the panaramic ocean and whitewater views, I couldn't resist capturing the scene with the video featured herein.  Also impressive is the mountain views with the King Kong profile looming in the opposite direction.  This home is one of many in the area with similar views.  This one was priced just under $2 million.  The home in front was also … (3 comments)

Kauai Absorption Rate Very Dependent on Island Zone - 07/09/10 03:24 PM
There have been huge improvements in Kauai's absorption rate in 2010.  At mid-year, 3 of our 5 zones are moving out of the red zone from "not pretty" to troublesome, a welcome improvement.  Still pretty ugly are the South and North Shores which are big resort areas.  Homes on the South Shore are not bad but condos need help.  The North Shore still has issues with both homes and condos.

Anini Vista, Home to Kauai's Rich and Famous - 07/08/10 02:10 PM

Anini Vista is a community of luxury homes and homesites on acreage positioned high on a bluff-top overlooking the Anini Beach area.  This area is host to some of Kauai's "rich and famous".  Most homes are off of Anini Vista Drive plus a few are off of Kalihiwai Road.  There are 40 properties, 38 with CPR ownership and 2 undivided parcels.  Anini Beach itself is one of the safer North Shore beaches because of a reef running the entire length.  Beach safety is always important in Kauai and especially on the North Shore where winter surf can be deadly.
