Happy July 4 to everyone.
Chattanooga began its community celebration of July 4, Independence Day, last night with the Annual Pops on the River concert. There were thousands of people in Coolidge Park for the event, and almost that many red, white, and blue balloons. The concert is also known as Pops in the Park.
The Pops on the River celebration is produced by the Chattanooga Dowtown Partnership. This group is part of the visionary leadership which is propelling Chattanooga into national prominence as a place to live. There are 9 days in the Chattanooga Riverbend festival. My plans are not to post for all 9 days, but to give something of the variety and the flavor of the special annual event. My previous 2 posts are here.

The festival has grown in 28 years from an attendance of 1000 to over 650,000 during the 9 days of the festival.
Each night has its own character, each is different. The festival is about coming together, and it is about the music.
It is Chattanooga's Home Coming.
