greater chicagoland home inspection: Learning the Ropes Again...A Home Inspectors Quest for Marketing Genius part V - 04/23/10 02:37 AM
I have been a little lax at blogging the last several days.  My main focus was finishing development of the new Greater Chicagoland Home Inspection website.  I find myself lucky that I have a basic understanding of Flash and HTML and have created a few decent sites from scratch, however my formal college training was in graphic design, so this time I thought I would focus on that.
A beautiful website is nice, along with beautiful marketing materials, and a charismatic personality.  But in the age of internet marketing, a new component is added... SEO!

What could it be?  Many of you cannot stand this fella, even though all of us consider him a "fun guy".  His is with us always, but usually invites his friends over during the fall months.  He stops by, and even when the party is over, he is really hard to get rid of.
Care to guess?

Moving to St Charles, IL–Performing Arts
When looking into Moving to St Charles, IL one of the things we looked for was top rated entertainment. St Charles has some of the best in the area. Outdoor festivals and live music abound in the area, are common in the summer, but in the winter we look to performances indoors. Jen and I love seeing performances when possible. Since our son was born, we don’t get much of a chance to get to the local clubs as much as we used to. However, these are some of our favorite places for performing … (0 comments)

Moving to St Charles, IL- Restaurants
Moving from Chicago to St Charles was a leap of faith…at least from a culinary standpoint. My wife and I (and now our son) are foodies. We love food. We love ALL food. Those who have lived in or visited a world class culinary city such as Chicago would understand. Personally, I would put St Charles, IL up against any one of the city restaurants, anytime. St Charles and its surrounding areas have INDEPENDENT restaurants which cater to every taste. I mention independent, as I am not speaking of Olive Garden or Applebee’s as … (2 comments)

Moving to St Charles, IL –Quality of Life
When my wife and I decided to move to St Charles, it was important for us to do a bit of research, not only on style of home we wanted, but also on the community. Being from the Chicago area, we already knew the climate, but were interested in finding information about the quality of schools, cost of living and crime statistics. We wanted to move from the urban sprawl but still have access to the amenities of big city life. We wanted safety, cleanliness, great schools and a welcoming community to … (0 comments)

Moving to St Charles, IL - Things to do in St Charles

St. Charles is a great place to live and raise a family.  The broad expanses of area to play and the amazing scenery are what drew me and my wife here.  There is so much to do and so much to see that after 5 years, we have hardly even touched the surface.  Like most suburban communities, there are a huge number of outdoor activities to partake in.

Moving to St Charles, IL- Our School System
When looking to purchase a home, it is important to look at the school system. A good school system is integral to the future success of your children, and increases property value.  St Charles School District (CUSD 303) is among the best in Illinois.  It is a high achieving, pre K-12 system.  Currently its 17 schools serve 13,800 students, from St Charles and portions of West Chicago, South Elgin, Wayne, Campton Hills, Wasco, Elburn and Unincorporated Kane County.

Part 3

My good friend, Marcee, who I have bought and sold several houses with, is the type of agent I formulate my business model from.  Years ago, during my first purchase, she asked numerous questions to help understand me as a buyer. Wide eyed and bushy tailed, I was looking for a beautiful, big, turn of the century Victorian.  She asked several questions regarding my knowledge of Victorians, including upkeep and the understanding of common issues associated with them.  Being new to historical homes at the time, we decided it was not for me.  I was enamored with owning … (0 comments)

I live and breathe interacting with these homes.  I know how to work on practically everything in a historical home.
Of course this is an extreme example of what the type of property the author above was referring to, however, it will help me illustrate my point.  Indulge me.
As an inspector, I don't like to run the gamut of all things that can go wrong, will go wrong with a client.  I am not a gloom and doom inspector.  I don't use scare tactics to create a "deal killer" for the client, or the … (2 comments)
