buy a home: Bob and Richelle Ward, Realtors Got a Brand New Look - 11/14/09 04:04 PM
Bob and Richelle Ward, Realtors Got a Brand New Look  We have looked the same for many years - in our professional photo at least.  Problem is, we got older and Richelle's hair style changed - nobody recognized her.  When she handed out our business card, the joke became "that's me with red hair and bangs".  People easily recognized Bob and knew he was a local Realtor.
So, here are our professional photos.  We would love to hear your feedback on them.

buy a home: Mortgage Rates and your Purchasing Power - 06/28/09 10:46 AM
There are many moving parts to purchasing a home - two of them are the purchase price of the home and the mortgage rate.  Mortgage rates change every day, but recently they went from 4.85% to 5.75% and are now back down around 5.25%.  We have had a few first time homebuyers who have only been concerned about "the bargain" price on their purchase.  When we pointed out the variation of the mortgage rate and how it affected their purchasing power, they didn't get it at first.  This got us to thinking ...
We're going to post a few tables with lots of … (6 comments)

buy a home: Sometimes, You Have to Kiss a Lot of Frogs - 06/18/09 06:03 AM
OK, so you're trying to find a home to buy and you're going out every weekend.  You search Realtor.com so much, you know the inventory better than your Realtor.  You've memorized the multiple listing service (MLS) numbers of the homes you absolutely love, you know what every home looks like - based on the photos posted on-line and when a home shows up that you are familiar with you, your heart skips a beat ... "is this the one???"
You speak with your Realtor every day - some days, you talk with to your Realtor two or five times about homes for sale.  You want to … (2 comments)

This information if courtesy of Dan Ianniello of Connecticut Home Mortgage.  Dan is a CMPS which means that he is a Certified Mortgage Planning Specialist.
These rates can change in a minute, and assume perfect credit and a substantial down payment other than the FHA rates.

We're in uncertain times in the real estate market and the economy.  News headlines are filled with stories that talk about falling property values, a weak economy, falling numbers of sales and on and on.
What is reality?
Reality check one:  We are in difficult times in the real estate market.  Despite the fact that Connecticut's numbers are pretty good, we are getting lumped together with areas of the nation that are not doing so well.  You would not know … (0 comments)

buy a home: www.connecticuthomesforsale.com - Change has Come - 01/18/09 07:21 PM
For the past few months, we have been working on our website, www.connecticuthomesforsale.com, to improve it and make it more consumer friendly.  It was a pretty boring website with "canned" pages and comments.  Every page has been re-worked and the following items have been added:
Client Testimonials FREE Map Give Away We have added IDX technology to our website.  IDX means that the MLS is available to the public on our website. We added a real estate related video at the bottom of the home page.  Should we keep the video real estate related or put in something that is funny? Our Facebook … (0 comments)

Getting Married Getting a Divorce Buying a House I've always thought there was quite a bit of truth to this as I have personally experienced #1 and #3.  The stress of getting everything perfect and not forgetting someone or something when we got married just about put me over the edge.  I remember when I had to order the flowers with my raging fever and ear infection, I … (1 comments)
