Newtown Middle School Halloween Contest  Every year, as Halloween approaches, the most amazing display materializes in front of the Newtown Middle School.  The Newtown Middle School Halloween Contest is actually called the Scarecrow Contest and the middle school students create the displays.  Each display has a number on a yellow tag and you can vote on your favorite - although it will cost you $1.00.  Check the Newtown Bee for ballot information on the Scarecrow contest.  All funds raised are donated to the winner's choice of charity.  Here are some photos of the Newtown Middle School Halloween Contest for you to enjoy:

Hello Newtown and welcome to our blog, LifeinNewtown.com!  Recently, we took out a small classified ad in the real estate section of The Newtown Bee.  Our simple ad has just www.LifeinNewtown.com.  We feel that it is time to introduce our blog to Newtown.
We have been blogging about life in Newtown, CT since September 2008.  We have also sprinkled in relevant real estate information about our town.  Blog topics have ranged from Fairfield Hills to Short Sales.  We have just posted two homes we recently listed for sale and plan to soon post information about the Faith Food Pantry.

halloween: Newtown, CT Halloween 2008 - 11/05/08 08:26 PM

At 60 square miles, Newtown, CT is the largest town in Fairfield County.  The town is spread out over a large area and so are the kids!  Over the years, Main Street has become the central place to celebrate Halloween and for trick or treaters.  This year, 3,000 trick or treaters were anticipated.
Many of the homes on Main Street are highly decorated for Halloween.  There are lights, pumpkins, spiders and other assorted scary things all along Main Street.  I think one the best decoration is at 74 Main Street (pictured above).  The spider crawls along it's web all day and there … (1 comments)
