Tonight at Ram Pasture is the Newtown Christmas tree lighting. The event starts at 6:30 pm with Santa and Mrs. Clause in attendance. This marks the 26th Annual Tree Lighting in Newtown. The Sandy Hook Christmas tree lighting will be held tomorrow, December 4, right in the heart of Sandy Hook Center. Tree lighting is scheduled for 6:30 pm, and festivities start at 4:30 pm. Newtown, CT Holiday Tree Lighting Last night, the Newtown, CT Holiday Tree Lighting at the Ram's Pasture took place. This is an annual event that usually takes place on the first Friday of December. It's truly one of the most beautiful evenings in Newtown. The roads leading to Rams Pasture are all lined with lighted luminaries (small paper bags with cutout on them with candles inside). Town residents attend this event in great numbers.

December 5th to December 7th is a BIG weekend in Newtown!
This year, Newtown's Holiday Festival will be held from Friday, December 5th to Sunday, December 7th! The Holiday Festival is an annual event that is the main fundraiser for Newtown Youth and Family Services (a joining of the Family Counseling Center and Newtown Youth Services). This is the Festival's 23rd year and there are many events over the weekend.
