We've all heard it before. First impressions are very important. Why do people not take the time to really showcase their home and make it stand out form the rest. I met this great couple approximately a month or so ago and we discussed our plan to sell their home. There were some small things that need to be taken care of before the house could be seen and shown.

There are many ways to sell your home. The options are getting more and more diverse. We hear the commercials on the radio that there is a "New Way" of selling homes. In my opinion the "Old Way" is still a very good option. Like my father always used to tell me "You get what you pay for". Your house has just been listed. What is your next step? Do you just wait and see what happens? It might be a very good idea to start your search right away. You do not want to wait until the last minute to see what is out there because if you do, you might end up having to settle on whatever is out there. Find out what is available and where you would like to go. This will eliminate the surprises, making your life much easier and the selling process less stressful.!

The snow is melting and you are selling your home! Why not take a bit of time to clean up your lawn? When you are selling your home, you want to give the best first impression possible. Why not take the time to clean up the lawn, remove the garbage that has accumulated over the winter and rake it up. You might be one of the few people that will do it and when potential buyers come visit they will be impressed. There is nothing like having a nice lean front lawn to give a good first impression.

The stats are out for February 2012 for the Ottawa Real Estate market! Members of the Ottawa Real Estate Board sold more home in February 2012 compared to February 2011. The average price is up and the market is going to get busy. With the warmer weather coming we can already feel the activity increasing even more.
The average sale price of residential properties, including condominiums, sold in February in the Ottawa area was $350,046, an increase of 3.2 per cent over February 2011. The average sale price for a condominium-class property was $273,464, an increase of 4.6 per cent over … (1 comments)

It's time to renew your mortgage. What should you do? just let the bank renew on their term? I don't think so. It's a great time to shop around for the best deal out there. Yes, your bank will renew it but will you get the best term? the bank is looking out for their interest, NOT necessarily yours.

Ventilation for the bathrooms - 03/01/12 12:08 PM
A good ventilation fan in your bathroom will help with the moisture in the bathroom and in your home. When we bought our home in 2010 the the ensuite bathroom did not have a fan. When the house was built it was to code because there was a window in the bathroom. It's true, the window in the bathroom can help with getting rid of the humidity when you take a bath or shower.
