A "Must Do" Summer treat - 05/26/08 10:12 PM
One of the finest places to visit while enjoying the beautiful Texas Hill Country this summer is the Point Theatre.  The Hill Country Arts Foundation was established in 1958.  The Point Theatre sits on the banks of the Guadalupe River just off Highway 39 in Ingram, Texas, a few miles west of Kerrville.   www.hcaf.com
The outdoor setting is magical when the sun goes down and the moon shines and the stars twinkle.  The performers are local and gifted actors and singers.  There is always a variety of shows during the summer but I've found them all to be wonderful.

Baby Boomers retiring to the Texas Hill Country - 05/18/08 11:41 PM

If you've not seen it, check out the May 18th Sunday edition of the San Antonio Express News Real Estate section.  Yours truly was interviewed for an article about Baby Boomers moving to the Texas Hill Country.  They even included a photo of one of my listings.  For those of you who came to the BBQ in April and toured Bandera with me, you will recognize it as the fabulous home on San Julian Creek located in the Flying L Guest Ranch.

Another listing was also mentioned but without a picture.  I am very appreciative to them for featuring … (20 comments)

My clients wanted to buy a house but decided to fuel up the car instead. - 05/17/08 10:40 AM
Am I complaining about gas prices?  You bet I am.  Why aren't you?
Nothing ever changes until enough pressure is exerted in the right places.  This is true about everything.  Nothing will change with the gas prices until we get upset enough to do something about it.  We must speak up.  We must either change our driving habits or produce alternative fuels or produce more gasoline from our own country.
Did you see on the news today that President Bush was turned down by the Saudis when he asked them to produce more oil?  They are his good friends.  They've been … (58 comments)

Learn something new every day! - 05/12/08 10:19 PM
You can learn something new every day!  I usually do and that is what makes life interesting and fun. Today I learned a little tidbit that I'm sure will make my life a little easier and I wanted to share it with you.
Have you ever been in a hurry in the kitchen and pulled out a roll of aluminum foil or Saran Wrap and started to pull out a sheet to cover some food, when the roll pops out of the box and unrolls too much or lands on the floor?  I have more times than I want to remember.   … (25 comments)

Stop This Bill Now! - 05/03/08 09:28 PM

I heard part of a news article on the radio (KTSA 550 AM) this afternoon that really concerns me.  According to the article, Texas Governor Rick Perry is pushing for a new bill    that will tax small incorporated businesses making $1,000,000. or less per year on the gross amount they bring in rather than on the net amount.   This is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard.  It is sure to put many people out of business.  All kinds of businesses will be affected, restaurants, dry cleaners, books stores, clothing stores, service businesses, retail and the Mom and Pop's.
If you … (14 comments)
