kerrville texas homes for sale: Don't Listen to your Friends - 03/06/12 11:26 AM
Are you considering buying a home? That is good. Now is a great time to buy. Prices are softer and interest rates are lower than in previous years which will make your payments less for the same priced home you could have bought several years ago. Or you might choose to buy a more expensive home, maybe one that is larger than you previously could have afforded since the payments will be less. Homes with special amenities like swimming pools, larger lots, workshops, RV barns, etc are now in the affordable range for many new homeowners with interest rates so much

kerrville texas homes for sale: It's Time to Write - 06/13/11 09:29 PM
Do you have those writer's blocks? I do occassionally and I guess I must be in one right now. I just can't seem to get enthused about a topic. I think about writing about different things but by the time I get around to it I have forgotten the blog I had in mind or I talked myself out of it. Sometimes I am just too busy to write and other times I am not busy enough. Know what I mean? Writing is a habit we have to develop whether we feel like writing or not. It is important to

kerrville texas homes for sale: Patriotic? Love America? Shop at Home - 05/30/11 11:07 PM
Years ago, when I worked for a newspaper, I would occasionally do a "Shop at Home" tabloid. All my advertisers would run specials in the tab and the customers would get a bargain. The real winner though, was our small town. Local businesses would reap the benefits of the citizens buying in our town and not going to the big city to buy their groceries, hardware, furniture, clothing and everything else. Car dealers, office supply stores, and restaurants loved these twice a year tabloids. It meant lots of business and the excitement to see what was going to be on sale had

kerrville texas homes for sale: Why Do We Sell Manufactured Homes in Kerrville? - 04/13/11 10:32 PM
We are a full service real estate company selling homes, land, even commercial properties but we also sell manufactured homes in parks. Kerrville has many adult parks with nice manufactured homes. Many have garages, large carports, fenced yards, waterfrontage, clubhouses, swimming pools, activities, walking trails and other amenities. I believe everyone should be able to afford a special place in the beautiful Texas Hill Country and not everyone can pay several hundred thousand dollars for a retirement home or a get-a-way. There are lots of options for those looking for lesser priced homes and Hill Country retreats. You may never have

Say Congratulations Ricki! Congratulations! This blog will take me to over 200,000 points! I rarely look at points even though I appreciate them. I believe blogging is about communicating ideas, sharing information and building relationships. Points are just a way to see if you are being consistent. Every milestone needs to be celebrated though. So I am celebrating this one! HOORAY FOR ME! Yippee! Never thought I'd make it! WOW! What a journey! What great friends I have made along the way! Looking forward to the next 200,000 points. Many of you hit this point a long time ago and to

kerrville texas homes for sale: How Much Is Too Much? - 02/12/11 07:09 PM
How Much Is Too Much? I'm talking about real estate information for our potential buyers. Isn't our advertising enough? Isn't IDX searches enough? Aren't our websites doing enough? Don't you have telephones at the office, in your pocket, in your car, isn't email everywhere? And texting? HOW MUCH IS ENOUGH? I'm not happy about our MLS being able to launch our listings onto our Facebook pages too. Yes, I have a business page on Facebook. Will I really need it anymore? After they install the Facebook button on MLS, it will be so easy for every agent to send their listings

kerrville texas homes for sale: You Have More Worth Than You May Know - 01/30/11 09:27 PM
Occassionally I will write a blog that is inspirational in nature rather than about the real estate business. I know people like to get to know their real estate agents in a personal way, to know what is important to the person that is helping them with their important decisions in buying and selling properties. So I want to share with you some observations I made today. I had the privelege of singing with my brother at a church service in a nursing home. There were only 18 people there. A very small group with great enthusiasm. Most of the attendees

kerrville texas homes for sale: When Your Joy Is Gone - 01/16/11 01:45 PM
What do you do "when your joy is gone?" Ever thought about it? Joy is what keeps us humming. Joy is what keeps us getting up in the morning, going after our goals, motivating us to try harder. Joy is a word we usually associate with Christmas carols but "Joy" is so much more. Joy comes from deep inside us. I say "Joy" comes from God living in us. It is something deep that actually transforms our countenance, our outlook on life, our productivity and even our thoughts. Joy is the hope that gives us the extra umpff to make it

kerrville texas homes for sale: Another Year is Just About Gone - 12/19/10 09:38 PM
Can you believe it? Where has the time gone? It seems like yesterday we were making New Year's resolutions and preparing for a great 2010 and now the time has run out and 2010 will be in the history books in just a few days. Thinking back about our accomplishments in our office, the days were well spent. We started with a plan to increase the size of our office. We did that. We wanted more agents. We did that too. We needed our agents to be better trained. Our training program did that. We asked our agents to obtain designations

kerrville texas homes for sale: Do Something For Yourself by Doing For Others - 12/04/10 12:55 PM
Have you ever done something you had never attempted before and were surprised at how well it turned out? Yesterday was the Christmas Party for the Hill Country Youth Ranch and it went wonderfully well. It was amazing to see how my office accomplished everything we set out to do. The whole program ran smoothly. Everyone had a great time and the children were well behaved according to the counselors. They were even surprised at how their attention was held and how well everyone followed directions. Our office, Ricki Eichler Real Estate, wanted to do something good for the

Thank you for Helping and Giving! Christmas is just around the corner. Our first Christmas Party this year will be for the children at Hill Country Youth Ranch in Ingram. Our party will be this Friday and we will have lots of food and homemade goodies. Each of our agents are making homemade cakes, cookies, pies, and candy. We will have those kids sugared up!!!!

kerrville texas homes for sale: Is This Too Much To Ask? - 11/14/10 12:10 PM
Is it too much to ask the listing agent to bring the keys with them to closing or to drop them off at the title company if they are not going to be there? I just closed a home in San Antonio, which is not my normal area of doing business. When I asked for the keys, the closer told me the listing agent had not brought them by and that was the normal way of doing business in San Antonio. Being used to better service in Kerrville, I was shocked to hear this. Most of the REALTORS® in Kerrville try to cooperate

kerrville texas homes for sale: Pumpkin Cookies from a Cookie Lover - 11/06/10 09:34 PM
I just made up a new recipe that I want to share with my friends. Not all of you will want to bake a pumpkin and mash it to get the goodness out of it but that is what I did. If that is too hard, use canned pumpkin. Start with 1/2 cup shortening. Add 1/2 cup brown sugar and 1 cup sugar Cream together. Add 1 egg and mix. Add 1 teaspoon vanilla 1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon, 1/2 teaspoon ginger, 1/4 teaspoon cloves and 1 teaspoon salt, mix. Now add 1/2 cup mashed cooked pumpkin and mix well. Next comes

kerrville texas homes for sale: Interruptions all day long, "How can I get anything done?" - 11/06/10 12:07 PM
"What is the most important ability I need to possess to be successful in real estate?" I get asked this question regulary because I accept and train "newbie" agents. I love training new agents because of their excitement to be in the business. It's like working with first time homebuyers, the excitement they have at buying their first home. It's a great feeling helping people achieve their dream. With "Newbie" agents it is the same way. Helping agents become the successful people they want to be is the greatest reward. So, what is the most important ability one must have to

Word of Mouth Advertising, how good is it really? Word of Mouth Advertising, how much can that do? Word of Mouth Advertising, how far can that go? How good is it? It is their recommendation. It is their backing. It is their experience. So, how good is that? It's the best advertising you can have! How much can that do? Word of mouth advertising can

kerrville texas homes for sale: What's For Dinner? - 10/31/10 02:50 PM
Lynn Crosby wants to know what's for dinner? Well, Lynn, I looked in the refrigerator and just used what I had handy. An easy, inexpensive meal is what this day is about. So we will start with some boneless pork ribs. Add a little salt, pepper, garlic powder of course, and my favorite sauce. Woody's Cooking Sauce is a phenomenal flavor. If you have never tried it, go get some. On pork, it is awesome! Cook these on the grill until done. Pork needs to be cooked through thoroughly. Test often so you do not overcook though or they
