All week we have had some very heavy showers and thunderstorms at some point during the course of the day. When people find out that we are real estate agents, 9 times out of 10 the next question is.....How is the real estate market? Honestly we can say that things are slower than past years but we continue to be optimistic in the Carol Stream real estate market and the Dupage County real estate market as a whole.
We have just finished the first weekend in August. School starts for Carol Stream School District 93 on August 22. Buyers that have children in school are trying to make their last efforts to wrap up housing before or shortly after school starts.

                                 As Illinois, Dupage County real estate agents servicing Kane and Cook counties, we pay very close attention to the Carol Stream real estate market as well as the Bloomingdale real estate market, the Glendale Heights real estate market and the  surrounding communities. According to the Illinois Association of Realtors' June home sales report, the Illinois median home sale price was $215,000. This was up 1.1% from one year ago which had a median home sale price of $212,600. From January to June 2007 sales were down 15.2% from the same time last year.
