Are they your customers? I recorded this for non real estate markets, it's something that is a hard thing for many "old school" business types to wrap their head around, but it's true and it is particularly true in the world of real estate.
Do you think that your customers aren't also surfing your competitions website? Ask them, I'm almost positive they'll tell you they use 3 or 4 different sites regularly because they like different features from different ones.

Why pay for water, when you could own the watering hole? How many phone calls have you had from lead generation companies that want your money every month to send you leads?
Why let them build all the lead generation sites and sell you the leads? Why don't you just build them yourself and keep the leads for yourself.
Or better yet!!! Sell the leads to other agents and keep the referral commission. Become one of those agents that produces a ton of listing referrals and just make your money letting other people close them

Those of you who have followed my development of the community marketing platform, know that it has not happened over night.
We first tried to sell the community sites to agents, but they are not ready for a full time content job.
Instead, after consulting with many of you, it became apparent that paying for leads was not a great model and that in general people prefered to pay a referral fee.
We came up with a hibred model.
There are many free benefits to being a member including getting leads directly from your blog and / or profile.

Revenue Share This is an outline of how we give realtors the incentive to go out and sell websites for us while they are building their profile within the community
Simultaneously we offer incentives to graphic designers to contribute templates to the template engine as their designs will be used by multiple store in multiple cities, thereby encouraging them to contribute better and better templates.
We're hoping to create competition amongst the designers and stimulate more submissions as a result.
