Recently, DFH Real Estate Ltd. has designed and published a new logo. Because of this, our company's Sign Post has changed. The new look is much nicer with the new logo. Below is my sign. I have incorporated my website and my cell phone number into the sign. If buyers go to my website, they will be able to find my listing. Or if they wish to contact me directly on my cell phone at anytime, I will respond with the particulars that they are inquiring about.

DFH Real Estate Ltd. once again hosted a successful Child Find day today (Saturday, October 16). The annual event was hosted at the DFH office on Shelbourne St. as well as at the Westshore and Sidney offices. At the Shelbourne office approximately 50 children, babies to 12 year olds, were photographed and findgerprinted during the day. Each child received a booklet with the pictures, fingerprints and other personal information to take home. It was a fun event with helium balloons and refreshments, including popcorn, drinks, cookies and even Halloween candy being handed out. Each year Citizenship and Immigration Canada allows approximately 40,000 new immigrants to arrive on our shores. How many of these people are renting? How many have bought homes? It was celebrated today with the 31st running of the GoodLife Fitness Victoria Marathon. Over 14,000 participants ran today--a record turnout. The Men's Marathon saw a new winner--Kenyan Philip Samoei--with a world record time of 2:23:24. James Lander from the US, but now living in Victoria, came in 2nd with a time of 2:23:57. So here we are, spending the Canadian Thanksgiving weekend at Tigh-na-Mara Seaside Spa Resort and Conference Centre in Parksville on the east side of beautiful Vancouver Island about 100 miles above Victoria BC. My wife and I live in Cordova Bay in a Pan-Abode house built in 1962. We bought it in the summer of 2009. What is a Pan-Abode? It is a manufactured log home consisting of milled 4" x 6" Western Red Cedar timbers interconnected at the corners. Our homes receives various types of comments from family members and visitors. All are positive. No one has outright said they don't like it. A number of our guests have said that they thought Pan-Abodes are "dark". I just have to rub it in! There are often days in the fall here in Victoria when, if you own a convertible, you just have to put the "top down". We have just experienced such a couple of days. Termperatures reached well into the low to mid 20's C (mid 70's F). Now while that is no large feat for many cities of the world, it is well known that Victoria, BC has the best weather in Canada! My dog Tessa always enjoys "walkies", chasing the ball as well as a dip in the salt chuck. Our favourite place for such sport is … (3 comments)

When we were buying homes in the '60's, '70's, and '80's did we ever dream that interest rates would ever be so low as they are currently? I distinctly remember a friend, who was an active realtor in the early 1980's when rates went to 21.5%, making the comment, "We may never see 10% mortgage money again." Well surprise, surprise! Rates today are at historical lows. If buyers qualify, they can obtain a 5-year closed mortgage for as little as 3.79%. A 1-year closed can be as low as 2.50% as are 5-year variable rate mortgages!
